It's the poor-man's 356. But no other car looks like it, and I get stopped by someone every time I drive it who says, "My (self, friend, cousin) had one of those back in college! I loved that car!" Loved these cars since being a nipper... always wanted one. Designed in the early 50's, VW just 'evolved' the look slightly over the years, rather than changing it abruptly. Never going to set the world alight on performance and was very expensive when originally on sale. All this means they're quite rare these days.May 09, 2008
