I purchased this in 1986 in Tampa, Fl. I have put well over 100,000 miles on this car. It has new metal body parts, new paint, new interior, and I just dropped a 396 engine in it from a '67 Chevelle. Next will be a new top.Sep 01, 2014

A fun car to drive. Has some rust in the floor
and the trunk, but that don't hurt anything the
heat works so it ain't but so cold in the winter.
Once I prime and paint it I'm going back white.Nov 07, 2010

I had the 4door with the 350, and quadrajet carb, This car was fast. This was the first car I ever owned, bought from a junkyard in 1996, when I was 16, it had belonged to some rich lady who had died and her family wanted it gone, so they took it the the junk yard. The car had sat in her garage for 15 years without being cranked, and had only 28954 miles on it the day I got it. Still had the factory tires on it (nearly 30 years later) I paid $800 for it, then it cost me $300 to replace all the gaskets and seals in it, and another 200 for a new set off tires. (Anything rubber on it was dry-rotted). This was a mean machine. Being a teenager I tried to top her out but always chickened out somewhere around 120mph. Mine was ugly to me, but everyone else loved the car. Once went to a car show, walked around and when I returned to my car to leave, found a large crowd gathered around it, they kept asking how I found all those parts to keep it original, I mearly pointed to the odometer, then to the Bow-tie on the front grill, and smiled. But unfortunately gas prices started to soar, and I had to park the car, being young dumb and desperate for another vehicle I sold it to a mechanic for $1200, 3 years after I bought it, he then put the motor and transmission in a 68 camaro, put a clunker motor and tranny in it, then won TWO demolision derbies in it. Broke my heart.Dec 30, 2009

Car Starts up and runs like champ. 176,000 miles and its still kicking, with a new motor and transmission, but come on, it is American made. Back then cars weren't meant to go for ever, well unless your Volkswagen... Truly an amazingly well built car, Chevys are simple and cheap to fix as well as to modify or trick out.Jun 30, 2009

I have personally put 100,000+ miles on this car since 1986 when I found it in Tampa as a 22 year old. This thing is big, smooth, and sexy. It came with power front disk brakes, power steering, AC, and a 12 bolt rear end. I have replaced all metal body parts, new paint, new interior, including new stereo and four speakers. I just pulled the original 350 motor and replaced it with a 396 engine from a '67 Chevelle. Next will be adding a 3 gauge kit under the dash.

My 69 Impala is partial restored Has a 396 numbers matching big block turbo 400 auto trans with open diff. The car has orginal interior split bench The car is green with green interior with a green vinyl roof. As for preformace but for tire spin accelleration is quit remarkable for such a large car.It float down the hiway like a dream. The down side even with new shocks and suspension pieces it handles in a corner like a cow with a broken leg. Body roll is excessive to say the least. As for stopping it does but very slowly because it has for wheel drum brakes. In conclusoin nice looking lots of style good ride on a sunny day.GUYDec 23, 2006
