I love my car, It may not look that great to most people but to my it couldn't be anymore perfect. My 65" is sporting the original factory paint, dropped to the ground with a nice set of empi rims. I have a 1600cc I pulled out of a 75 super beetle that I plan on dropping into the car in the future. Jan 06, 2014

I love this car. It's like driving a new 50 year old car. Not many of these old Bugs left in this kind of condition, and none that look and drive like this one. Hope everyone gets to drive one like this at least once in their life.Jul 24, 2013

This car is a beautiful specimen. Very little rust, good paint, many original parts, the engine is true, and she's fun to drive. But she really likes to mark her territory, so she needs a little TLC. Once I get her rolling reliably, I'm going to show her the country!Aug 15, 2012

It's an aircooled VW... what's not to like?!!?!? A lot of power that you can really
feel. This is a drivers vehicle. If you're looking for auto seat adjustments and
power windows and heat and a/c and what not this is not for you. If you love cars
and driving them then get yourself into a VW! Dec 16, 2010

car is rough from 45 years of hard use and abuse but i wouldn't trade it for the world. upate the engine to dual port dual relief, disc brakes up front and put booster fans in heating ducts and it would be perfectDec 12, 2010

I own a Java Green 1965 VW beetle with
the standard 1200 40 hp motor. I love
this car. She is 100% stock and a hoot to
drive. The only draw back is the lack of
some type of forced air when the weather
is bad. Everyone loves to come tell
stories how their families all have owned
one and the crazy stuff that happened to
them. I cant think of a better entry
collector car for an enthusiast to begin
with. Aug 26, 2010

My 1965 Herbie is my pride and joy. We bought him in August 2008. He is
believed to have had only one owner until 2006 in Texas. In 2006 he was
imported to the UK and was put on display in a private collection.
He has been fitted with a Brazilian 1600 engine with a bit more punch
than a standard 1200. He is by no means perfect but he's pretty bloody
good. We go to as many VW shows as we can and we have just been given
a place on the VWOCGB stand at the NEC Classic Car Show!!!Aug 10, 2010

My second car - bought it used in 1970 for about $900 with about 60,000 miles on it to replace the '57 bug. Over 10% power increase to a phenomenal 40 HP AND it had a FULL synchromesh 4 speed manual trans. Top speed was probably 70 or 75. Mileage was about 26 - 30 mpg. I unloaded it in 1986 for $400 NOT RUNNING with about 160,000 miles on it. It became very unreliable in 1979 and stranded me a couple of times during my commute to San Onofre (75 miles one way) so I bought a Mazda GLC to replace it, but kept the car until we moved to Arcadia.
Carburetor problems to the point where I was having to rebuild it every year or so. I could get the rebuild kit for about $10 and did it myself. Once I got the price for a new carb but the cost was about $150 - insane.Mar 28, 2010

it is another project at this moment the motor is out but it had a 1200cc single port , and a 1600 dual is going back in it. also its name is kirmet, it started life out as a 65 bug, then someone along the line got ahold of a manx body and put it on the pan.Dec 19, 2008

Pros: Simple, small, fast (enough), cool (especially in winter), low, safe for pedestrians (they hear me coming from a distance), no-fi audio system, only few electrical components, cheap parts (not really but that's what I tell tthe wife)
Cons: uh... No automatically tinting rear mirror.

i love the look, the convertables the best, four cylinde montor. i love the fact that the trunk is in the front and the back is where the montor is. i like the bugs that have the wind up looking key on the back. The color would have to be red with black dots on it and on the hood eyes so it looks like a lady bug. Oct 24, 2008

Our beetle was so cute and had a lot of guts. It can go where jeeps can't follow and the rear wheel drive is great in the snow. Requires a lot of work as they age, but with new king pins and a rebuilt motor it ran great. Watch out for rust if you're thinking about buying one and expect to do a lot of restoration. Fortunately, Beetle parts are pretty cheapMay 28, 2008

Car was rebuilt by previous owner from the pan up. He had a 2332 in
it, gorgeous fast car. He sold it to me with a reliable 1600dp in it.
This is one beautiful car, the odd minor paint nick or scratch, but
nothing that is not repairable. Dec 20, 2007
