What should I look for when buying a used Genesis GV70?
Key things to evaluate:
- Fuel efficiency: The 2026 GV70’s base powerplant remains a 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 300 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, matched to an eight-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive (AWD) is standard across the entire GV70 lineup. Which Genesis GV70 trim should I buy?
The 2026 Genesis GV70 offers these trims:
- Advanced: The base 2.5T trim gives you the GV70’s core luxury feel, standard all-wheel drive, and the model’s refined design; it suits you if you want the entry point into the lineup.
- Advanced with Tech Package: This trim adds a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, real leather upholstery, larger wheels, and a long list of tech updates, making it the best-value choice for many shoppers.
- Prestige: This version adds a Bang & Olufsen audio system, Nappa leather seating surfaces, a 16-way ergo driver’s seat, heated rear seats, and more, so it suits you if you want a more upscale cabin.
- 3.5T Sport: This trim brings the larger twin-turbo V6 engine, dark chrome moulding, 21-inch wheels, and carbon fibre trim, making it the performance-focused choice.

Great value for the money. Compares to Audi Q5, lexus RX350 and Porsche Macau with similar trim options. GV70 definately a better ride than either Audi or Porsche as they were very stiff and overall handling goes to GV70 as well. Lexus was smoother ride but felt underpowered and handling not as tight as Genesis. Pricing for Genesis just under Lexus, but blows Audi and Poesche out of the warer.

Genesis GV70 test drive
overall
Genesis found serious success with the GV70 when it was launched four years ago, and it isn’t looking to mess up a winning formula as it refreshes the compact luxury SUV for 2026.
There are some subtle alterations to the GV70’s exterior, most notably to the grille and lighting clusters. To find the biggest changes for 2026, though, you’ll have to look inside to see the very wide OLED display that dominates the view from the driver’s seat. In addition to the massive infotainment panel, the software that powers the GV70’s abundant technology and safety packages has gone through a comprehensive upgrade.
Verdict: While we’d love to see Genesis push the styling envelope a little further — recent concepts like the X Gran Coupe and Equator show what the Korean brand’s stylists are capable of — the 2026 GV70 remains near the head of its class of compact luxury crossovers. The GV70 has been Genesis’s most popular model in Canada since launch and represented 57% of the brands total Canadian sales last year. Expect that trend to continue for the foreseeable future.
