What should I look for when buying a used Genesis GV70?
Key things to evaluate:
- Fuel efficiency: The 2026 GV70’s base powerplant remains a 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 300 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, matched to an eight-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive (AWD) is standard across the entire GV70 lineup. A 3.5-litre turbocharged V6 is the default on the 3.5T Sport trim, and it sends 375 hp and 391 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels for an exhilarating level of performance.
Which Genesis GV70 trim should I buy?
The 2026 Genesis GV70 offers these trims:
- Advanced: The entry trim brings the 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder, standard all-wheel drive, the 27-inch OLED display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a comprehensive safety package; it suits buyers who want the core GV70 experience at the lowest starting point.
- Advanced with Tech Package: This trim adds a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, real leather upholstery, larger wheels, and a long list of tech updates, making it the best-value choice for many shoppers.
- Prestige: This version adds a Bang & Olufsen audio system, Nappa leather seating surfaces, a 16-way ergo driver’s seat, and heated rear seats for a more upscale cabin.
- Sport: The Sport model adds a unique grille pattern, dark chrome moulding, 21-inch wheels, and carbon fibre trim, along with the 3.5-litre turbocharged V6 for buyers who want the most performance-focused setup.

Great value for the money. Compares to Audi Q5, lexus RX350 and Porsche Macau with similar trim options. GV70 definately a better ride than either Audi or Porsche as they were very stiff and overall handling goes to GV70 as well. Lexus was smoother ride but felt underpowered and handling not as tight as Genesis. Pricing for Genesis just under Lexus, but blows Audi and Poesche out of the warer.

Genesis GV70 test drive
overall
Genesis found serious success with the GV70 when it was launched four years ago, and it isn’t looking to mess up a winning formula as it refreshes the compact luxury SUV for 2026.
There are some subtle alterations to the GV70’s exterior, most notably to the grille and lighting clusters. To find the biggest changes for 2026, though, you’ll have to look inside to see the very wide OLED display that dominates the view from the driver’s seat. In addition to the massive infotainment panel, the software that powers the GV70’s abundant technology and safety packages has gone through a comprehensive upgrade.
Verdict: While we’d love to see Genesis push the styling envelope a little further — recent concepts like the X Gran Coupe and Equator show what the Korean brand’s stylists are capable of — the 2026 GV70 remains near the head of its class of compact luxury crossovers. The GV70 has been Genesis’s most popular model in Canada since launch and represented 57% of the brands total Canadian sales last year. Expect that trend to continue for the foreseeable future.
