What should I look for when buying a used BMW X2?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: BMW’s standard safety suite includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, active blind-spot monitoring, and lane departure warning.
• Infotainment: The BMW Curved Display pairs a 10.25-inch digital instrumentation panel with a 10.7-inch touchscreen infotainment system powered by BMW Operating System 9, and BMW Live Cockpit Plus adds wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
• Fuel efficiency: On our evaluation loop, the X2 xDrive28i M Sport averaged 11.2 litres per 100 kilometres, considerably higher than the official Natural Resources Canada fuel consumption estimate of 8.5 L/100 km in combined driving. (The M35i is estimated to burn 8.9 L/100 km in combined driving.)

Which BMW X2 trim should I buy?

The 2024 BMW X2 offers these trims:

• xDrive28i: The entry version brings standard all-wheel drive, the BMW Curved Display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and standard safety tech; it suits you if you want the core X2 experience.
• M35i: This higher-performance trim adds 312 hp and the more powerful character buyers want if they value stronger acceleration and the most engaging version of the X2.

What BMW X2 do most buyers choose?

The BMW X2 years with the most listings are 2025, 2026, and 2024.

Higher-volume years usually give you more choice in trims, colours, and pricing, which is why they tend to be the most popular used picks. They also make it easier to compare similar listings and find a deal that fits your budget.

What is the BMW X2's resale value?

The table shows broad downward movement across the model range, which can work in your favour if you’re shopping used. The largest drops are concentrated in the newer and mid-range years, while the smaller declines suggest some versions are softening more gradually.

The 2022, 2024, and 2018 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the BMW X2 safe?

• 2024: 9/10

BMW equips the X2 with standard forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, active blind-spot monitoring, and lane departure warning. For the safest used buy, the 2024 model posts the highest confirmed score of 9/10.
