Is the Audi A3 a good car?

Yes — the Audi A3 is a strong pick if you want a compact luxury car that feels polished, enjoyable to drive, and well equipped. The all-generations owner rating is 4.6/5 across every model year in the data.

The main trade-offs centre on the cramped back seat, limited cargo space, and the lane-departure warning system’s false alerts in the newest model. Higher maintenance costs also come up in owner feedback, so the A3 tends to suit buyers who prioritise refinement and driving enjoyment over maximum practicality.

What Audi A3 do most buyers choose?

The Audi A3 years with the most listings are 2025, 2026, and 2017.

Higher-volume model years usually draw more shoppers because they offer a broader mix of prices, trims, and availability. That makes them easier to compare and more likely to surface a good match for your budget and feature priorities.

What is the Audi A3's resale value?

Most Audi A3 model years are down year over year, and several recent years show double-digit declines. That creates a favourable setup for used buyers who want a newer A3 at a lower price than a year ago. The smallest changes appear in the older model years, which suggests those cars have moved less sharply than the newer ones.

The 2016, 2020, and 2023 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Audi A3 safe?

• 2022: 9/10

Audi equips every 2025 A3 with Pre Sense Front, lane-departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, a vehicle exit warning system, and Audi Side Assist blind-spot monitoring.
