What should I look for when buying a used Volkswagen Tiguan?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, safe passenger exit warnings, parking sensors, automatic high beams, Emergency Assist, and post-collision braking

• Comfortline: This trim adds more convenience and comfort equipment for shoppers who want a stronger value balance without moving to the top of the range.

What Volkswagen Tiguan do most buyers choose?

The Volkswagen Tiguan years with the most listings are 2025, 2023, and 2024.

Higher-volume model years usually give you more choice in trims, colours, and pricing, which makes it easier to compare listings and find a Tiguan that fits your budget. They also tend to be the years shoppers cross-shop most often, so the market is usually deeper and more active.

What is the Volkswagen Tiguan's resale value?

Most Tiguan model years show double-digit year-over-year price declines, which is good news if you’re shopping used because it opens up more value across the range. The newer models are also falling in price, so recent years can be especially attractive if you want updated design and features without paying new-car pricing. The overall pattern points to broad softening rather than stability.

The 2025, 2016, and 2022 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
