What should I look for when buying a used Volkswagen Tiguan?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, safe passenger exit warnings, parking sensors, and automatic high beams

Which Volkswagen Tiguan trim should I buy?

The 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan offers these trims:

• Trendline: The base trim comes very well equipped and should satisfy most shoppers in the compact SUV segment.
• Comfortline: This trim adds a step up in equipment for buyers who want more niceties without changing the Tiguan's character much.
• Comfortline R-Line: This sport appearance package adds a more distinctive look for shoppers who want extra style.
• Highline R-Line: The top trim adds the most equipment, including a head-up display, surround-view camera system, a traffic sign reader, a 15-inch display with native navigation, and illuminated VW badge and light bar details; it suits buyers who want the most features and the strongest visual presence.

What Volkswagen Tiguan do most buyers choose?

The Volkswagen Tiguan years with the most listings are 2025, 2023, and 2024.

Higher-volume model years tend to draw more shoppers because they usually offer a broader mix of prices, trims, and availability. That gives you more chances to compare listings and find the right balance of equipment and value.

What is the Volkswagen Tiguan's resale value?

Most Tiguan model years are down by double digits year over year, which is good news if you're shopping used and want stronger value. The newer years still show meaningful price drops, but the pattern is consistent across the lineup rather than concentrated in just one era.

The 2014, 2015, and 2025 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
