Should I buy a used Toyota Tacoma now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −16.56% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −8.29%.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: A 2.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine is standard and comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission or, in two configurations, a six-speed manual. In all Canadian models with the automatic, it provides 278 hp and 317 lb-ft of torque. Manual versions see a slight drop to 270 hp and 310 lb-ft. The i-Force Max hybrid bumps power and torque to 326 hp and 465 lb-ft and theoretically has better fuel economy.

If you're buying used today, the 2024 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
