28.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
Are Toyota Camry models reliable?
Owners consistently describe the Camry as comfortable, dependable, and easy to live with, and that theme shows up across the model years in the data. Expert reviews also reinforce its reputation for practicality, fuel efficiency, and a reassuring ownership experience.
- Owners rate the Toyota Camry between 4.4 and 5.0 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.
For used buyers, the long-term ownership outlook is encouraging because the Camry’s strongest themes are durability, comfort, and everyday dependability.
What should I look for when buying a used Toyota Camry?
Key things to evaluate:
- Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 (TSS 3.0) with adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, lane centring assist, road sign assist, and high beam assist.
- Infotainment: An 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus SiriusXM and connected services.
- Fuel efficiency: Fuel economy ranges from 5.0 to 5.5 litres per 100 kilometres in combined city and highway driving, depending on the trim level and drivetrain configuration.
Which Toyota Camry trim should I buy?
The 2026 Toyota Camry offers these trims:
- SE FWD: The entry point in the lineup, with an available SE Upgrade FWD package for shoppers who want more equipment while staying with front-wheel drive.
- SE Upgrade AWD: Adds all-wheel drive and can be paired with the Nightshade package, making it the best-value choice for buyers who want extra traction and a more distinctive look.
- XLE AWD: A more upscale trim that sits above the SE versions and suits buyers who want a more premium Camry experience.
- XSE AWD: The top trim in the lineup, aimed at shoppers who want the most feature-rich and sporty-feeling version.
What Toyota Camry do most buyers choose?
The Toyota Camry years with the most listings are 2025, 2024, and 2026.
| Model Year | Total Listings | Good + Great Deals % |
|---|---|---|
| 2025 | 241 | 37.8% |
| 2024 | 223 | 37.2% |
| 2026 | 172 | 36% |
| 2023 | 147 | 34% |
| 2019 | 137 | 20.4% |
| 2018 | 128 | 21.9% |
Higher-volume model years tend to attract more shoppers because they offer a wider selection of listings and more chances to find the right trim, colour, and price. They also tend to be the years buyers cross-shop most often when looking for a newer Camry with strong equipment and broad availability.
What is the Toyota Camry's resale value?
| Model Year | Current Avg. Price | Year-Over-Year Change |
|---|---|---|
| 2025 | $38,841 CAD | −13.51% |
| 2018 | $20,917 CAD | −10.27% |
| 2024 | $30,837 CAD | −8.27% |
| 2022 | $26,229 CAD | −8.22% |
| 2017 | $17,763 CAD | −8.17% |
| 2021 | $24,296 CAD | −7.87% |
| 2019 | $21,639 CAD | −7.42% |
| 2023 | $28,554 CAD | −6.72% |
| 2020 | $24,062 CAD | −3.94% |
| 2015 | $14,698 CAD | −1.4% |
| 2016 | $16,940 CAD | −1.12% |
| 2014 | $14,329 CAD | +3.91% |
Most Camry model years are down year over year, and several recent ones have seen fairly sharp declines. That pattern is good news for used buyers because it creates more room to shop for value, especially in newer model years. A few older years are holding steadier, and one is even up slightly, which shows that the Camry’s strongest examples can still command solid demand.
The 2014, 2016, and 2015 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
Is the Toyota Camry safe?
- 2026: 8/10
- 2025: 9/10
- 2022: 9/10
- 2021: 9/10
- 2020: 9/10
Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard on every 2026 Camry and includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, lane centring assist, road sign assist, and high beam assist.
For the safest used buy, the 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2025 models all post the highest confirmed score of 9/10.
Should I buy a used Toyota Camry now or wait for the next model?
Buy now if:
- Price trend: The 2025 model is at −13.51% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −8.27%.
- Deal availability: The 2025 model has 37.8% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 37.2%.
- Sweet-spot year: The 2025 model has the most listings at a current average price of $38,841 CAD. The Toyota Camry offers a comfortable, easy-to-live-with character that makes it a straightforward choice for commuting and family use.
Consider waiting if:
- Powertrain/efficiency: The Camry combines a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with a pair of electric motors for 225 horsepower in FWD models, while AWD versions add a third electric motor and raise output to 232 hp, with fuel economy ranging from 5.0 to 5.5 litres per 100 kilometres combined.
- Tech: The Camry includes an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the larger 12.3-inch touchscreen adds cloud-based navigation, destination assistance, and an Intelligent Assistant conversational voice recognition system.
- Safety: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard on every 2026 Camry, and it adds Proactive Driving Assist alongside a broad suite of driver-assistance features.
- Starting price: The Camry is offered in Canada from $36,935 to $47,690, including destination.
If you're buying used today, the 2025 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.

I absolutely love my 2021 Toyota Camry. From the moment I got it, I honestly fell in love with it. The car looks sporty and modern, but at the same time it’s very comfortable and smooth to drive. It feels reliable and safe, which gives me a lot of confidence, especially as someone still getting used to driving more often. The fuel efficiency is great, and the interior is clean and well-designed. Everything feels solid and easy to use. It’s definitely a great value for the price. If I had to mention something, I wish it had push-button start, but overall I’m extremely happy with my purchase. I would definitely recommend this car to anyone looking for something reliable, stylish, and comfortable.

A lot of people looking at a certain car for the lowest price end up getting the oldest/first year of a cars generation. Thats because its typically the least expensive year of that particular body style they are looking for. As someone whos sold many cars in the last decade I can assure you, that is typically a big mistake. They often have problems that automakers cant know about until thousands of people have driven them for tens of thousands of miles, or more. I wanted the most reliable car possible. Easy, right? Just buy a Toyota... right? No. Ive seen it with Toyota as well. Many times. So I purposely sought the most recent model year of a generation of cars that are widely considered the most reliable ever made. A 2017 Camry (non-hybrid), if treated well, can be counted on being driven for over 1 million miles without an engine rebuild. They are an engineering marvel of our time. The 2.5l 2AR-FE has to be the most bulletproof example of a gasoline engine to ever sit under a hood. The car itself is well designed and is a flawless performer in normal daily driving. The SE/XSEs in particular have a suspension that can take a quickly-turned corner without skipping a beat. The seats are very comfortable over long drives, but supportive when youre in the curves. It has large windows to avoid blind spots and has airbags in every direction. The crash tests show that its extraordinarily safe if the unthinkable occurs. Its simply a brilliant choice of car. And getting back to my first sentences, the 2017 model had it all nailed down after 6 years of getting closer and closer to perfection. Toyota could have gotten away with not redesigning it for several more years. Easily. However, being the most popular car in the United States is a challenge that requires not letting the customers get bored. So I suppose Ill forgive Toyota for not making the car longer. That said, any one of the years of the seventh generation Camry is a great car to own. But this last year is perfection. Its why I have one. Im proud & grateful to be the owner of a 2017 Camry SE. Ill likely drive it until the car or myself dies. Dont ask me which one will kick the bucket first though, because Im 42 and this engineering marvel of the auto world is only 7. Dont pass up a well treated one.

I absolutely love the features of my car. The push start, sunroof, heated seats, heated steering wheel, and Apple CarPlay are all fantastic. For the value, the car is a great choice. Being a Toyota, its built to last and is also very fuel-efficient. Both the exterior and interior are incredibly clean, which adds to its appeal. That said, there are a couple of things I wish were different. I’d love if the car had memory seats, and the display screen could be a bit more modern, especially compared to the ones in the Toyota Highlanders. Another small inconvenience is that, unlike the Highlanders where Apple CarPlay connects wirelessly through Bluetooth, my car requires the phone to be plugged in for CarPlay to work. While this isnt a huge issue, it would be more convenient if it were wireless like in the Highlanders. Overall, it’s a really cute car and an amazing choice for a first car. Im really happy with it!

CarGurus recommends the 2025 Toyota Camry

Summary
With 243 currently listed for sale and an average price of $38,846 CAD, 35.4% of 2025 Toyota Camry listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2025 Toyota Camry 4.89 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it an 8 / 10.
Why it stands out
The 2025 Toyota Camry kicks off its ninth generation as a now-hybrid-only midsize sedan, and that alone makes it distinctive. It brings a new look, new features, and a new hybrid powertrain for 2025, while continuing to lean on the reputation for reliability and safety that has helped make the Camry a perennial favourite among families. Toyota’s approach here is straightforward: give buyers up-to-date styling and technology, strong value, and a car that stays familiar enough to appeal to loyalists.
That formula is backed up by some clear strengths. The 2025 Toyota Camry is fuel-efficient, competitively priced, and offers all-wheel drive on every trim. It is also described as having excellent fuel economy and no fatal flaws that would likely push a brand loyalist away. The main drawbacks noted are a noisy engine and a finicky voice assistant, so while the Camry remains an easy car to recommend for shoppers who want efficiency and value, it is not entirely free of rough edges.
