What should I look for when buying a used Nissan Murano?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Nissan Safety Shield 360, with lane departure warning, blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection.
• Infotainment: wireless charging and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus the monolith-style display with two 12.3-inch screens.
• Fuel efficiency: 10.6 litres per 100 kilometres in the city, 8.6 on the highway, and 9.7 combined.

Which Nissan Murano trim should I buy?

The 2025 Nissan Murano offers these trims:

• SV: The entry trim brings the new powertrain, standard wireless charging, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the dual 12.3-inch display setup, and Nissan Safety Shield 360; it suits buyers who want the newest Murano experience at the lowest price.
• SL: This trim adds Google Built-In, a 10-speaker Bose Premium Series audio system, 64-colour ambient lighting, ProPILOT Assist 1.1, the 3D Intelligent Around View Monitor, and Transparent Hood View; it stands out as the best-value trim.
• Platinum: The top trim adds a head-up display, 21-inch wheels, enhanced Bose audio, and the most upscale presentation in the lineup.

What Nissan Murano do most buyers choose?

The Nissan Murano years with the most listings are 2018, 2020, and 2019.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you a wider selection of trims, prices, and equipment levels. That usually makes it easier to find a Murano that fits your budget and feature wish list.

What is the Nissan Murano's resale value?

Most Murano model years are down year over year, which can work in your favour if you are shopping used. The newer years are falling too, but by smaller amounts than many older examples, so they are still holding more of their value. The 2024, 2022, and 2023 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Nissan Murano safe?

• 2025: 8/10

For the safest used buy, the 2025 model posts the highest confirmed score of 8/10.

Should I buy a used Nissan Murano now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −13.68% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −4.55%.
• Deal availability: The 2024 model has 29.4% good and great deals.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2018 model has the most listings at a current average price of $15,780 CAD. The Nissan Murano offers a comfortable ride and a stylish, upscale-feeling cabin that has long been part of its appeal.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: The new Murano gets a new powertrain: a 2.0-litre turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine — known as VC-Turbo, referring to Nissan’s variable compression ratio system — paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. It’s rated for 241 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque.
• Tech: wireless charging and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are all standard, and the SL trim adds Google Built-In, making Google Maps native and also introducing the voice-activated Google Assistant capability.
• Safety: the fourth-gen model comes standard with the Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite of advanced driver assistance features, and higher trims add ProPILOT Assist 1.1, a 3D Intelligent Around View Monitor, and Transparent Hood View.
• Starting price: The 2025 Nissan Murano SV starts at $49,631 CAD in Canada.

If you're buying used today, the 2018 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
