The Mercedes-Benz GLC has garnered consistent praise from owners across all model years for its luxurious comfort, advanced technology, and powerful performance. Drivers appreciate the smooth ride and spacious interiors, making it a comfortable choice for both daily driving and long trips. However, some have expressed concerns about high maintenance costs, the complexity of certain tech features, and occasional reliability issues. I bought the car! It is immaculate, 48k miles and looks and smells like it came from the showroom. Great fuel economy for the engine and it feels tight. Great sport sport+ and eco modes as well as a comfort setting.

Why it stands out
The 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLC stands out as a compact luxury SUV that was designed to be more successful than the GLK it replaced. Mercedes-Benz gave it a longer, sleeker shape, and that change brought both better style and more practicality, with improved rear-seat space and a larger cargo area. It also shares many parts with the C-Class sedan and wagon, which helps explain why it feels like a premium, car-like SUV rather than a rugged off-roader. On-road comfort and refinement are the priorities, and the GLC is described as doing both well.
For 2016, the model line-up was still simple. The base GLC 300 used a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with 241 horsepower, and 4Matic all-wheel drive was standard in Canada from the start. The GLC 350e plug-in hybrid added an 85 kW electric motor and had a total system output of 320 hp, while the AMG GLC 43 brought a twin-turbo 3.0-litre V6 with 362 horsepower. All versions came with a nine-speed automatic transmission, which suits the GLC’s relaxed character.
Buyers looking at a 2016 GLC get a premium feel and a strong mix of comfort, practicality, and available performance. The trade-off is that reliability is not one of its strengths, with owners noting suspension and electrical issues, and some reporting piston and cylinder problems with GLC 300 models. Even so, its combination of upscale design, useful space, and standard all-wheel drive makes it an appealing used luxury SUV for shoppers who value refinement over excitement.
