What should I look for when buying a used Lexus NX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada fuel economy ratings for the non-hybrid Lexus NX 350 are an unremarkable 9.8 litres per 100 kilometres combined (10.9 city, 8.5 highway). The NX 350h is rated at 6.0 L/100 km combined (5.7 city, 6.4 highway). The NX 450h+ boasts an NRCan-rated 60 kilometres of all-electric driving range, and fuel economy of 6.6 L/100 km combined in hybrid mode.
• Infotainment: A 9.8-inch infotainment touchscreen is standard on base NX, while a 14-inch display is standard when you equip any package. All 2026 Lexus NX models come standard with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity.

Which Lexus NX trim should I buy?

The 2026 Lexus NX offers these trims:

• NX 350: The entry point in the 2026 lineup, with the standard 9.8-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, six USB ports, dual-zone climate control, heated and ventilated front seats, and a power-adjustable steering column. It suits you if you want the most accessible way into the NX range.
• NX 350h: The hybrid choice adds the efficiency-focused powertrain and is the best-value trim if you want lower fuel use without moving up to the pricier plug-in hybrid.
• NX 450h+: The plug-in hybrid brings the biggest battery-backed electric capability, 304 hp, and 60 kilometres of all-electric driving range, making it the most advanced powertrain in the lineup.
• Luxury: This package adds a more upscale equipment mix for buyers who want a richer cabin experience.
• F Sport 2: This trim adds the sportier F Sport treatment, including adaptive dampers, black 20-inch wheels, a different front fascia, black roof rails, and black window framing.
• Ultra Luxury: This package is aimed at buyers who want a more premium-feeling NX with additional high-end equipment.
• Executive: This is the trim to target if you want leather upholstery and a more upscale cabin presentation.
• F Sport 3: The top sport-oriented trim adds the F Sport hardware and appearance upgrades, including adaptive dampers and 20-inch wheels, for buyers who want the most aggressive look in the range.

What Lexus NX do most buyers choose?

The Lexus NX years with the most listings are 2025, 2026, and 2024.

These higher-volume years tend to be the easiest to shop because you get more inventory to compare, which can help you find the right trim, colour, and equipment mix. They also tend to attract more attention from shoppers who want newer features and a broader selection of examples.

What is the Lexus NX's resale value?

Most Lexus NX model years are down year over year, which is good news if you’re shopping used and want more value than you would have seen a year ago. The biggest drops are concentrated in the newer and mid-cycle years, while the smallest changes are in the latest models and a few older ones.

The 2023, 2022, and 2026 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Lexus NX safe?

• 2026: 8/10
• 2022: 10/10

The standard Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 suite includes forward collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane centring assist, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, and Safe Exit Assist.

For the safest used buy, the 2022 model posts the highest confirmed score of 10/10.

Should I buy a used Lexus NX now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −12.54% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −10.89%.
• Deal availability: The 2025 model has 24.3% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 27.9%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2025 model has the most listings at a current average price of $49,942 CAD. The Lexus NX offers a distinctive design and a polished luxury feel that make it easy to live with every day.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: Lexus offers a variety of powertrain options in the NX, which is good because the standard hardware in our NX 350 F Sport 3 test car does not impress. The NX 350 uses a turbocharged 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine generating 275 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque, which is supplied to a standard all-wheel drive (AWD) system via an eight-speed automatic transmission.
• Tech: A 9.8-inch infotainment touchscreen is standard on base NX, while a 14-inch display is standard when you equip any package. All 2026 Lexus NX models come standard with a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, and six USB ports.
• Safety: The standard Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 suite includes forward collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, left-turn oncoming vehicle detection and braking, Risk Avoidance Emergency Steer Assist, adaptive cruise control, lane centring assist, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and traffic sign recognition.
• Starting price: The cheapest 2026 Lexus NX model in Canada is the base NX 350, which starts at $58,224 CAD including the mandatory destination charge and other fees.

If you're buying used today, the 2025 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
