Is the Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid a good car?
Yes — the Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid is a strong choice if you want a practical, well-equipped hybrid SUV with a comfortable ride and lots of space. The all-generations owner rating is 4.62/5 across every model year in the data.

Expert reviews rate the 2023 model among the highest across all years.
The main trade-offs across recent expert-tested years are the styling, which is often described as polarising or outdated, plus a driving feel that leans toward calm and composed rather than engaging. Which Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid trim should I buy?

- Luxury: the only hybrid trim in Canada for 2023, with a 1.6-litre turbocharged hybrid powertrain, standard all-wheel drive, a six-speed automatic transmission, and a strong value case for buyers who want the hybrid’s efficiency and equipment in one package.
What Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid do most buyers choose?
The Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid years with the most listings are 2025, 2026, and 2027.
| Model Year | Total Listings | Good + Great Deals % |
|---|---|---|

| 2026 | 155 | 26.5% |
| 2027 | 125 | 26.4% |

| 2023 | 70 | 31.4% |
| 2022 | 69 | 27.5% |
Higher-listing years usually draw more shopper attention because they give you more inventory to compare, which can make it easier to find the right colour, mileage, and price combination. They also tend to be the most visible choices for buyers who want newer features and broader availability.
What is the Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid's resale value?
| Model Year | Current Avg. Price | Year-Over-Year Change |
|---|---|---|

| 2024 | $43,493 CAD | −7.56% |
The table shows broad downward movement across the model range, which can work in your favour if you are shopping used. The larger drops on older years suggest stronger value opportunities, while the newer years have moved down more modestly.
The 2024, 2025, and 2022 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

So far, this has been one of the best hybrids I’ve ever owned. Extremely smooth, both hybrid system and ride. Averaging around 34 mpg. It has enough power to get the job done. Best of all it doesn’t have a CVT.

Honestly I love my car. I love all of the Bella and whistles so to speak. Only thing is there no where for my sunglasses. That my only complaint. Great mileage! Roomy seats. It’s everything I wanted.

CarGurus recommends the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid

Summary
With 168 currently listed for sale and an average price of $43,148 CAD, 25.0% of 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid 5 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid stands out as a roomy, well-equipped three-row SUV that brings a lot of standard content for the money. It uses a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine paired with an electric hybrid motor and a six-speed automatic transmission, and in Canada, HTRAC all-wheel drive is standard. The hybrid setup is also notably efficient, with fuel consumption rated at 6.8 litres per 100 kilometres in the city, 6.9 on the highway, and 6.9 combined. For buyers who want a family SUV that balances practicality with lower running costs, that combination is a major part of its appeal.
The 2025 model also benefits from a strong list of standard equipment. The Preferred Hybrid includes 18-inch alloy wheels, a hands-free power liftgate, synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, a curved display with a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen and digital instrument panel, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Safety equipment is similarly generous, with forward collision avoidance assist with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, a blind spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, lane keep assist, a driver condition monitor, and a safe rear-passenger exit warning system. That said, the Santa Fe Hybrid is not trying to be sporty: it is described as slow to 100 km/h, and its driving character is composed rather than engaging.
There are also a few caveats to keep in mind. The Santa Fe Hybrid’s boxy styling and pixelated lights are polarising, and its ride and comfort-first tuning mean it is more about ease of use than excitement. Even so, for shoppers who value standard features, efficiency, and the added practicality of a three-row layout, the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid offers a distinctive mix that sets it apart from many rivals.
