Which Hyundai Kona trim should I buy?

The 2026 Hyundai Kona offers these trims:

• Essential: the entry point to the lineup, with the standard 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen and the Kona’s roomy, refined cabin character.
• Preferred: adds the turbocharged 1.6-litre engine, eight-speed automatic transmission, and AWD, making it the best-value choice for shoppers who want stronger acceleration and a more sophisticated rear suspension.

What Hyundai Kona do most buyers choose?

The Hyundai Kona years with the most listings are 2024, 2025, and 2023.

Higher-listing model years usually draw the most attention because they give you more choice on trim, colour, mileage, and price. They also tend to be the easiest years to compare side by side when you’re shopping for value.

What is the Hyundai Kona's resale value?

The table shows broad downward movement across the Kona lineup, which can work in your favour if you’re shopping used. The declines are double-digit in every listed year, so buyers are seeing meaningful price relief rather than small adjustments. The newer model years still command higher absolute prices, but they are also showing substantial year-over-year softening.

The 2021, 2024, and 2023 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
