How much does the Honda Odyssey cost in today's market?

Used Honda Odyssey prices span a wide range depending on model year. Here's what the market looks like right now:

The Honda Odyssey's current nationwide average price is $29,895 CAD, and its lowest point over the past year was $27,879 CAD. Recently, prices have come down for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

Is the Honda Odyssey a good car?

Yes — the Honda Odyssey is a strong used pick if you want a family-focused minivan with broad appeal and a long-running reputation for comfort and practicality. The all-generations owner rating is 4.61/5 across every model year in the data.

Owners consistently praise the Odyssey for its spacious cabin, comfortable ride, and family-friendly features. Versatile seating arrangements and useful convenience equipment also come up again and again, especially for buyers who need an easy-to-live-with people mover.

Expert reviews rate the 2021 and 2022 models among the highest across all years.

The main trade-offs centre on fuel economy, technology that feels dated in some years, and the absence of a hybrid powertrain. Even so, the Odyssey remains a compelling used minivan because it delivers the core strengths most shoppers want: space, comfort, and everyday usefulness.

26.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Are Honda Odyssey models reliable?

Owners and experts consistently praise the Odyssey for its spaciousness, comfort, and family-friendly usefulness. The model also earns repeat credit for its practical seating flexibility and easy day-to-day drivability, which helps it stay appealing across multiple generations.

• Owners rate the Honda Odyssey between 4.45 and 5.0 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.

For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is best managed by checking maintenance history carefully, especially on higher-mileage examples from years that drew complaints about transmission, electrical, or infotainment issues.

What should I look for when buying a used Honda Odyssey?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Honda Sensing, with adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
• Infotainment: a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto.
• Fuel efficiency: According to Natural Resources Canada, the 2025 Odyssey should get 10.6 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving.

Which Honda Odyssey trim should I buy?

The 2025 Honda Odyssey offers these trims:

• Sport: The entry trim gives you the updated 7-inch digital driver display, the 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, and the core family-friendly cabin layout. It is the starting point if you want the newest tech at the lowest price.
• Sport-L: This trim builds on the Sport with more comfort and convenience equipment, making it a strong value choice if you want a better-equipped Odyssey without moving to the top end.
• Touring: Touring adds more premium family features and is a good fit if you want a richer equipment mix for long trips and daily use.
• Black Edition: The Black Edition sits at the top of the range and adds the most upscale presentation and equipment for buyers who want the most fully featured Odyssey.

What Honda Odyssey do most buyers choose?

The Honda Odyssey years with the most listings are 2019, 2018, and 2024.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you a broad mix of pricing, equipment, and availability. When more listings are on the market, you usually have a better chance of finding the right trim, colour, and condition for your budget.

What is the Honda Odyssey's resale value?

Most Odyssey model years are showing negative year-over-year movement, which is good news if you are shopping used. The larger drops are especially noticeable on several recent and mid-cycle years, while a few older examples have changed by a much smaller amount.

The 2014, 2022, and 2024 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Honda Odyssey safe?

• 2025: 6/10
• 2022: 8/10
• 2021: 9/10

Every 2025 Odyssey has Honda Sensing, a collection of driving-assistance systems.

For the safest used buy, the 2021 model posts the highest confirmed score of 9/10.

Should I buy a used Honda Odyssey now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Deal availability: The 2024 model has 28.5% good and great deals.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2019 model has the most listings at a current average price of $27,746 CAD. The Honda Odyssey offers a roomy cabin, flexible seating, and family-friendly practicality that make it easy to live with.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: Under its stubby hood, you’ll find a tried-and-true 3.5-litre V6 engine making 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
• Tech: A new 7-inch digital driver display pairs with an analog speedometer, and the minivan adds a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a faster processor for quicker response to inputs.
• Safety: Every 2025 Odyssey has Honda Sensing, a collection of driving-assistance systems, and the Touring and Black Edition trims add front and rear parking sensors.
• Starting price: In Canada, the 2025 Odyssey starts at $53,056 CAD including destination charges and other fees.

If you're buying used today, the 2019 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
