What should I look for when buying a used Honda Accord?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Honda Sensing, including adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, traffic-jam assist, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
• Infotainment: a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, text-messaging support, HondaLink connected services, Wi-Fi access, and an SOS emergency call button.
• Fuel efficiency: According to Natural Resources Canada, the Accord EX should return 7.3 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving.

Which Honda Accord trim should I buy?

The 2023 Honda Accord offers these trims:

• EX: The gas-only base version in Canada, with a turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a 7-inch touchscreen, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Honda Sensing; this is the trim to focus on if you want the entry point to the redesigned Accord.
• Sport Hybrid: The best-value pick for many shoppers, adding hybrid power, quicker acceleration, upgraded fabric upholstery, and a better infotainment system.
• Touring Hybrid: The top hybrid trim, adding Google Built-in with Google Assistant and Google Maps, and the most fully equipped version in the 2023 lineup.

What Honda Accord do most buyers choose?

The Honda Accord years with the most listings are 2018, 2019, and 2017.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you a strong mix of availability, familiar equipment, and pricing that often lands in a useful middle ground. More listings also make it easier to compare condition, mileage, and asking prices before you buy.

What is the Honda Accord's resale value?

Most Accord model years are down year over year, and several recent ones show double-digit declines. That pattern can work in your favour if you’re shopping used, because it opens up more value on newer examples than you might expect. A few years have fallen less sharply, which suggests some trims and generations are retaining value a bit better than others.

The 2017, 2022, and 2015 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Honda Accord safe?

• 2023: 9/10

• 2020: 8/10

Every 2023 Accord has Honda Sensing, a collection of advanced driving assistance systems that can help to prevent a collision.
