These are great now they are coming down in price. For the most part the GMT900 platform is rock solid. There are some quirky things that come with this platform, nothing major. Make sure to keep up on the maintenance and ensure all fluids are full. I’ve had 3 units Silverado, Tahoe and Yukon xl combined mileage around 500k. By far the lowest cost used vehicle to own. The only serious bad thing about these and reason for 3 stars is the body. GM didn’t use any rust preventative or e-coated panels anywhere on these. Rust forms in the rockers and wheel openings. I know I mentioned maintenance above but make sure to keep up on maintenance and oil changes by 5k miles regardless of what the oil life monitor says. Change tout the battery every couple of years, the accessories are power hungry and kill batteries.

CarGurus recommends the 2023 GMC Yukon XL
Summary
With 96 currently listed for sale and an average price of $73,445 CAD, 34.4% of 2023 GMC Yukon XL listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2023 GMC Yukon XL 5 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2023 GMC Yukon XL stands out first and foremost for its size and packaging. It adds more than 30 centimetres between the front and rear axles, which gives it extra passenger room in the third row and a great deal more cargo space behind that seat. It also benefits from the fourth generation’s independent rear suspension, a change that improves ride and handling while helping create a more comfortable third-row seat and more cargo capacity. For buyers who need a full-size SUV that can carry people and luggage with ease, that combination is the Yukon XL’s defining strength.
The 2023 model also offers a broad spread of powertrain choices, all paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. A 5.3-litre V8 is standard, while a 6.2-litre V8 and a 3.0-litre Duramax turbo-diesel engine are optional. In this model year, the Denali Ultimate sits on top of the regular-grade Denali, and Super Cruise is available as an option. The infotainment system with Google Built-In can accept voice commands, and the 12-inch driver information centre comes standard. Those details help the Yukon XL feel modern and well equipped, especially in a segment where buyers often expect both capability and convenience.
There are still trade-offs. The Yukon XL’s size and truck-based roots mean it is not the most efficient choice, and its appeal is strongest for shoppers who truly need spacious second- and third-row seating plus extensive cargo capacity. Even so, the 2023 GMC Yukon XL remains distinctive because it combines genuine large-SUV utility with a wide range of trims, strong available engines, and a more refined ride than older versions of the nameplate.
