The GMC Sierra 3500HD's current nationwide average price is $75,728 CAD, and its lowest point over the past year was $71,229 CAD. That puts the model in a fairly broad pricing band, with newer trucks commanding the highest averages and older ones offering lower entry points.
Recently, prices have come down for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

What GMC Sierra 3500HD do most buyers choose?
The GMC Sierra 3500HD years with the most listings are 2024, 2023, and 2025.
| Model Year | Total Listings | Good + Great Deals % |
|---|---|---|
| 2024 | 205 | 31.2% |
| 2023 | 185 | 31.4% |

| 2021 | 93 | 32.3% |
| 2026 | 76 | 39.5% |
These higher-volume years tend to be the most popular used picks because they give you more inventory to compare, more trim and configuration choices, and a better chance of finding the right price and equipment mix. They also tend to attract shoppers looking for newer features while still staying within the used market.
What is the GMC Sierra 3500HD's resale value?

| 2021 | $64,718 CAD | −8.89% |

The biggest drops are concentrated in the newer and mid-cycle trucks, while the smallest changes appear in the years that have moved the least.
The 2015, 2019, and 2024 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

This truck was in pristine condition, exactly what I was after in a vehicle. I passed on it because the asking price was pretty much what it was worth new in 2015. I have a hard time paying that kind of money for a 11 year old truck.

Besides the bells and whistles we grabbed this dually because we pull a toy hauler. We went from a sturdy 2500 Dodge Ram to this beauty. We choose the dually 3500 due to the pulling capacity and payload as toy haulers are heavier in front to compensate for the weight that you can put in the back. We have no issues pulling it now and the truck does not squat because the support of the 4 tires. Other friends have regular 3500 and still have issues with the payload and had to put in more money into their vehicle to beef up the suspension when pulling a toy hauler because the payload is less. YOU WONT REGRET BUYING ONE!

Why it stands out
The 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD stands out as a heavy-duty pickup that blends serious work capability with a more polished, upscale character than many trucks in its class. It is offered in a wide range of cab, bed, axle, and trim combinations, and its strongest versions are built around the 6.6-litre Duramax turbodiesel V8, which produces 470 hp and 975 lb-ft of torque for this model year. When properly equipped, it can haul up to 3,375 kilograms and tow up to 16,100 kilograms, which makes its capability a defining part of its appeal. The Sierra 3500HD also offers a broad spread of trims, from the basic work-focused model to luxury-oriented versions, so buyers can choose between a straightforward jobsite truck and something far more refined.
For 2024, the Sierra 3500HD received a slight styling refresh that updated the front fascia and headlights, along with a number of useful upgrades. A larger 13.4-inch infotainment touchscreen and a digital instrument panel were added to the SLE trim and above, while trailering tech expanded with enhanced adaptive cruise control, a weight limit monitor, and a transparent trailer camera view. The new Denali Ultimate trim also arrived as the top model, bringing features such as power-retracting running boards, adaptive cruise control, cooled and massaging front seats, a digital rearview mirror, and a sunroof. Those additions reinforce the truck’s more premium side without taking away from its core towing mission.
There are still trade-offs, though. The Sierra 3500HD is described as unwieldy in parking lots, and its top trims can be prohibitively expensive. Rivals can also tow more, so buyers focused only on maximum numbers may find alternatives more compelling. Even so, the 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD remains appealing because it combines heavy-duty strength, a wide equipment range, and increasingly sophisticated towing and comfort features in one package.
