Used GMC Canyon for Sale near Shipshaw, QC

How much does the GMC Canyon cost in today's market?

Used GMC Canyon prices span a wide range depending on model year. Here's what the market looks like right now:

The GMC Canyon's current nationwide average price is $41,729 CAD, and its lowest point over the past year was $37,976 CAD. Recently, prices have come down for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

Is the GMC Canyon a good car?

Yes — the GMC Canyon is a strong used-truck choice if you want a midsize pickup with a more upscale personality and broad capability. The all-generations owner rating is 4.3/5 across every model year in the data.

Owners consistently praise its stylish design, comfortable interiors, and strong performance, along with its easy driving manners and luxury-like features. Across the model years, the Canyon also stands out for its refined feel, good towing ability, and appealing mix of comfort and capability.

Expert reviews rate the 2023 and 2021 models among the highest across all years.

The main trade-offs are that some recent versions carry a high price, fuel economy can be a weak point, and the most off-road-focused trims can give up some everyday smoothness for their extra hardware. 28.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Are GMC Canyon models reliable?

Owners and experts consistently describe the GMC Canyon as comfortable, stylish, and capable, with a premium feel that helps it stand out in the midsize pickup class. The strongest feedback also centres on its solid performance, useful features, and overall versatility.

• Owners rate the GMC Canyon between 3 and 5 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.

For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is best managed by choosing a well-maintained example with a clear service history, since the model’s appeal depends heavily on condition and how it was equipped.

What should I look for when buying a used GMC Canyon?

Key things to evaluate:

• Fuel efficiency: The 2026 Canyon’s Natural Resources Canada-rated 14 litres per 100 kilometres combined is on par with a full-size GMC Sierra with 4WD and a V8 engine.

Which GMC Canyon trim should I buy?

The 2026 GMC Canyon offers these trims:

• Elevation: The entry trim brings the Canyon’s turbocharged 2.7-litre four-cylinder, eight-speed automatic, standard 4WD in Canada, and a standard off-road suspension with a five-centimetre lift.
• AT4: This trim adds a more off-road-focused setup with mud-terrain tires and the hardware that suits buyers who want stronger trail capability.
• Denali: The Denali shifts the Canyon towards a more premium feel with richer materials and a more upscale cabin presentation.
• AT4X: The AT4X is the most capable and best-equipped off-road version, adding Multimatic DSSV dampers, 27.2 centimetres of ground clearance, electronic locking front and rear differentials, hill descent control, and mud-terrain tires.

What GMC Canyon do most buyers choose?

The GMC Canyon years with the most listings are 2023, 2024, and 2025.

These higher-volume model years tend to be popular because they give you more inventory to compare, which can make it easier to find the right trim, colour, and price. They also sit close enough to the current generation to deliver the Canyon’s newer tech and more premium character.

What is the GMC Canyon's resale value?

Most model years in the Canyon lineup are down year over year, and several older versions show especially sharp drops. That pattern can work in your favour if you are shopping used, since it opens up more value in the market. The newer model years are also declining, but by smaller amounts than many older ones.

The 2024, 2025, and 2022 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the GMC Canyon safe?

• 2026: 4/10
• 2024: 7/10
• 2023: 6/10
• 2022: 4/10
• 2021: 8/10

Every 2026 Canyon comes with a suite of safety and driver assistance features that includes forward collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, blind spot monitors with trailer coverage, rear cross-traffic alert with rear automatic braking, rear parking sensors, and automatic high-beam headlights.

For the safest used buy, the 2021 model posts the highest confirmed score of 8/10.

Should I buy a used GMC Canyon now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −7.51% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −5.73%.
• Deal availability: The 2025 model has 33.9% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 35.2%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2023 model has the most listings at a current average price of $47,443 CAD. The GMC Canyon offers a more upscale feel than many midsize pickups, with a comfortable cabin and a strong mix of everyday usability and capability.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: The latest Canyon pairs a turbocharged 2.7-litre four-cylinder with 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque, an eight-speed automatic transmission, and standard four-wheel drive in Canada.
• Tech: It brings a standard 11-inch digital driver display and an 11.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Google built-in technology, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
• Safety: The latest model adds adaptive cruise control, a surround-view camera system, and rear pedestrian alert systems.
• Starting price: The Canyon lineup starts at $55,243 CAD.

If you're buying used today, the 2023 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
