What should I look for when buying a used GMC Canyon?

Key things to evaluate:

• Fuel efficiency: Our AT4X’s Natural Resources Canada-rated 14 litres per 100 kilometres combined is on par with a full-size GMC Sierra with 4WD and a V8 engine.
• Infotainment: GMC equips the Canyon with a standard 11-inch digital driver display and an 11.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Google built-in technology.

Which GMC Canyon trim should I buy?

The 2026 GMC Canyon offers these trims:

• Elevation: The entry trim brings the standard 11-inch digital driver display, 11.3-inch Google built-in touchscreen, and the Canyon’s standard safety and driver-assistance suite; it suits buyers who want the core tech and capability.
• AT4: This trim adds a more off-road-focused setup and is a strong choice if you want trail-ready hardware with a more rugged character.
• Denali: The Denali shifts the Canyon toward a more upscale feel with richer materials and a more premium presentation; it suits buyers who want comfort and style.
• AT4X: The AT4X is the best-value trim for buyers who want the most serious off-road hardware, including Multimatic DSSV dampers, mud-terrain tires, electronic locking front and rear differentials, hill descent control, and a Safety Alert Seat.

What GMC Canyon do most buyers choose?

The GMC Canyon years with the most listings are 2023, 2024, and 2025.

These higher-volume model years tend to be popular because they give you more inventory to compare and a wider spread of prices and equipment. That usually makes it easier to find a Canyon that fits your budget and feature priorities.

What is the GMC Canyon's resale value?

Most GMC Canyon model years are down year over year, which is good news if you are shopping used. The newer models are declining by smaller percentages than the older ones, and the steepest drops appear in several earlier years.

The 2024, 2025, and 2023 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
