The all-generations owner rating is 4.23/5 across every model year in the data.
Owners repeatedly praise the roomy three-row layout, comfortable seating, and family-friendly versatility. Many also highlight the smooth driving experience, with the V6 engine and available all-wheel drive adding appeal for colder-weather use and longer trips.

- Owners rate the Dodge Journey between 3.6 and 4.7 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.
For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is shaped by the mixed owner feedback on mechanical durability, so a careful pre-purchase inspection is a smart step.
What Dodge Journey do most buyers choose?
The Dodge Journey years with the most listings are 2016, 2017, and 2015.
| Model Year | Total Listings | Good + Great Deals % |
|---|---|---|
| 2016 | 268 | 23.9% |
| 2017 | 249 | 24.5% |
| 2015 | 216 | 20.4% |
| 2018 | 183 | 27.3% |
| 2014 | 178 | 14.6% |
| 2019 | 89 | 29.2% |
These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you more inventory to compare, which can make it easier to find the right trim, price, and condition. They also often sit in the sweet spot between newer features and lower used-car pricing.
What is the Dodge Journey's resale value?
| Model Year | Current Avg. Price | Year-Over-Year Change |
|---|---|---|
| 2019 | $13,236 CAD | −27.8% |
| 2015 | $8,132 CAD | −17.95% |
| 2017 | $11,390 CAD | −17.15% |
| 2018 | $12,632 CAD | −16.27% |
| 2016 | $9,296 CAD | −16.26% |
| 2014 | $8,041 CAD | −0.4% |
Most model years show sharp year-over-year price declines, which can work in your favour if you're shopping used. The pattern suggests stronger value for buyers across much of the range, while one older model year is essentially flat. The 2014 model year is holding steady, with prices close to flat year-over-year. The 2014, 2016, and 2018 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Exactly what we needed as a family vehicle. 3rd row is a huge bonus and the room on the inside is better than I could have imagined. Not as big as the Durango but bigger than the Ford Escape. Very pleased with the performance thus far. We had 8 inches of snow 2 days after we bought it, and it hadled the snow like a champ!
