What should I look for when buying a used Dodge Durango?

Key things to evaluate:

• Fuel efficiency: The 2026 Durango’s 3.6-litre V6 returns 11.9 L/100 km combined, while the 5.7-litre Hemi V8 returns 14.3 L/100 km combined and the 6.2-litre supercharged V8 brings combined fuel consumption up to 17.4 L/100 km combined.
• Infotainment: Every Durango comes with a 10.1-inch touchscreen running Uconnect 5, which features navigation, HD Radio, SiriusXM 360L satellite radio, over-the-air updates for the infotainment, and wireless Apple CarPlay.

Which Dodge Durango trim should I buy?

The 2026 Dodge Durango offers these trims:

• SXT: The entry trim starts the lineup with the 3.6-litre V6 and standard blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning, and rear parking sensors; it suits buyers who want the lowest starting point.
• GT: Adds a more equipped mainstream setup and is a good fit if you want a step up in everyday comfort and features.
• GT Plus: Adds lane departure warning and a nine-speaker Alpine stereo, making it the best-value choice for shoppers who want more equipment without jumping to the top end.
• GT Premium Hemi V8: Adds the Hemi V8 experience for buyers who want stronger performance and towing capability.
• SRT Hellcat Jailbreak: Adds the 6.2-litre supercharged V8, huge Brembo brakes, sport suspension, and performance-focused features such as launch control and a custom driving mode for buyers who want the most extreme Durango.

What Dodge Durango do most buyers choose?

The Dodge Durango years with the most listings are 2025, 2024, and 2026.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you more inventory to compare, which can make it easier to find the right trim, colour, and price. They also often sit in the sweet spot between newer features and used-market value.

What is the Dodge Durango's resale value?

Most model years in the table are down year over year, which is good news if you are shopping used. The biggest drops are concentrated in newer and mid-cycle years, while the smallest changes are clustered among older examples. That pattern gives you more room to find value across much of the lineup.

The 2017, 2014, and 2015 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Dodge Durango safe?

• 2026: 3/10
• 2025: 4/10
• 2023: 4/10
• 2021: 7/10
• 2020: 6/10

For the safest used buy, the 2021 model posts the highest confirmed score of 7/10.

Should I buy a used Dodge Durango now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2026 model is at −8.71% versus a year ago, and the 2025 model is at −20.17%.
• Deal availability: The 2026 model has 29% good and great deals, and the 2025 model has 31.7%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2025 model has the most listings at a current average price of $47,998 CAD. The Dodge Durango offers a roomy cabin and a strong, distinctive character that make it appealing for families and drivers who want more personality than a typical three-row SUV.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: In Canada, the 2026 Durango was originally available with Dodge’s 5.7-litre Hemi V8, but most trims can now only be ordered with the V6 engine for this model year; the V6 makes 295 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, while the 5.7-litre Hemi V8 produces 360 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque.
• Tech: Every Durango comes with a 10.1-inch touchscreen running Uconnect 5, which features navigation, HD Radio, SiriusXM 360L satellite radio, over-the-air updates for the infotainment, and wireless Apple CarPlay.
• Safety: Blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning, and rear parking sensors are standard on the three base trims, while lane departure warning is standard only on the GT Plus.
• Starting price: In Canada, the 2026 Dodge Durango starts at $62,790 for the base SXT trim including a $2,195 destination charge.

If you're buying used today, the 2025 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
