What should I look for when buying a used Dodge Durango?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning, and rear parking sensors are standard on the three base trims.
• Infotainment: Every Durango comes with a 10.1-inch touchscreen running Uconnect 5, which features navigation, HD Radio, SiriusXM 360L satellite radio, over-the-air (OTA) updates for the infotainment, and wireless Apple CarPlay.
• Fuel efficiency: The 3.6-litre V6 delivers 11.9 L/100 km combined, while the 5.7-litre Hemi V8 returns 14.3 litres per 100 kilometres combined and the SRT Hellcat Jailbreak brings combined fuel consumption up to 17.4 L/100 km combined.

Which Dodge Durango trim should I buy?

The 2026 Dodge Durango offers these trims:

• SXT: The entry trim starts the lineup with the Durango's core three-row layout and standard AWD, making it the most affordable way into the model.
• GT: Adds a step up in equipment and is a good fit if you want more features while staying near the lower end of the range.
• GT Plus: Brings the nine-speaker Alpine stereo and lane departure warning, making it the best-value trim for shoppers who want a stronger equipment mix.
• SRT Hellcat Jailbreak: Adds the 710-hp supercharged V8, huge Brembo brakes, sport suspension, and performance-focused features for buyers who want the most extreme Durango experience.

What Dodge Durango do most buyers choose?

The Dodge Durango years with the most listings are 2025, 2024, and 2026.

Higher-volume model years usually give you more choice in trims, colours, and price points, which makes it easier to find the right Durango for your budget. They also tend to be the years shoppers cross-shop most often, so the market for them is usually more active.

What is the Dodge Durango's resale value?

Most Durango model years are down year over year, and several recent years show double-digit declines. That creates a more buyer-friendly used market, especially if you are shopping newer examples. The smallest changes are clustered among the older model years, which suggests those versions have been moving more steadily.

The 2014, 2017, and 2015 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Dodge Durango safe?

• 2026: 3/10
• 2025: 4/10
• 2023: 4/10
• 2021: 7/10
• 2020: 6/10

For the safest used buy, the 2021 model posts the highest confirmed score of 7/10.

Should I buy a used Dodge Durango now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2026 model is at −9.01% versus a year ago, and the 2025 model is at −20.18%.
• Deal availability: The 2026 model has 28.5% good and great deals, and the 2025 model has 31.4%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2025 model has the most listings at a current average price of $48,035 CAD. The Dodge Durango offers a roomy three-row cabin with a distinctive, muscular character that stands out in the segment.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: In Canada, the 2026 Durango was originally available with Dodge’s 5.7-litre Hemi V8, but this powertrain is no longer listed on the Dodge Canada website as of this writing, while most trims can now only be ordered with the V6 engine for this model year.
• Tech: Every Durango comes with a 10.1-inch touchscreen running Uconnect 5, which features navigation, HD Radio, SiriusXM 360L satellite radio, over-the-air (OTA) updates for the infotainment, and wireless Apple CarPlay.
• Safety: Blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning, and rear parking sensors are standard on the three base trims, while lane departure warning is standard only on the GT Plus.
• Starting price: In Canada, the 2026 Dodge Durango starts at $62,790 for the base SXT trim including a $2,195 destination charge.

If you're buying used today, the 2025 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
