What should I look for when buying a used Chevrolet Traverse?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Super Cruise hands-free driver-assistance technology, automatic parking, a driver attention monitor, a surround-view camera system, rear pedestrian alert, traffic sign recognition, and a rear camera mirror.
• Infotainment: an 11-inch digital instrument cluster and a 17.7-inch infotainment touchscreen with Google built-in and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates the fuel consumption on the 2026 Chevrolet Traverse at 12.1 litres per 100 kilometres in the city, 9.9 on the highway, and 11.1 combined.

Which Chevrolet Traverse trim should I buy?

The 2026 Chevrolet Traverse offers these trims:

• LT: The most affordable trim brings cloth upholstery, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, tri-zone automatic climate control, and a hands-free power liftgate. It’s the best-value choice if you want the Traverse’s core space, tech, and safety features.
• Z71: This off-road-oriented trim adds red front tow hooks and knobby all-terrain tires, along with moderate off-road ability.
• RS: This sporty-looking trim adds a six-way power-adjustable front passenger seat, a power tilt/telescoping steering column, driver’s seat memory, leather upholstery, and heated outboard second-row seats.

What Chevrolet Traverse do most buyers choose?

The Chevrolet Traverse years with the most listings are 2025, 2024, and 2026.

These higher-volume model years tend to be the most popular because they give you more inventory to compare, more pricing spread to work with, and a better chance of finding the trim and equipment mix you want. They also sit close to the newest generation, which helps them feel more current for family buyers.

What is the Chevrolet Traverse's resale value?

Most Traverse model years are down year over year, and several have posted double-digit declines. That pattern is good news if you’re shopping used, because it creates more room to find value across a wide spread of model years. The newer models are also falling, but at a slower pace than some older ones, which helps keep recent inventory within reach.

The 2018, 2025, and 2026 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Chevrolet Traverse safe?

• 2026: 9/10
• 2025: 9/10
• 2024: 8/10
• 2022: 8/10

The 2026 Chevrolet Traverse includes a healthy set of standard safety features, including forward collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection and intersection assist, front and rear automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring with steering assist, lane keep assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors.

For the safest used buy, the 2025 and 2026 models both post the highest confirmed score of 9/10.
