I absolutely enjoy every aspect of this car. It came exactly like I wanted it to and had features that I was not expecting. All in all I'm very happy with my purchase.

Reviewed a 2020 Chevrolet Malibu on Mar 1, 2026
I purchased a 2020 Chevy Malibu on February 14th, 2024. Since then, the vehicle has been plagued with issues. The check engine light is constantly on, and when a sensor fails, multiple problems seem to arise. For example, the first time the check engine light appeared, the dash dinged and displayed messages like “steering assist reduced, drive with care,” while all the gauges would jump around. It also showed “low fuel,” despite the tank being full, and the message “service ESC.” The root cause was the throttle body, which needed to be replaced. Subsequently, similar issues occurred, and different parts had to be replaced, including the mass airflow sensor, the accelerator pedal, the brake vacuum pump sensor, the brake vacuum pump, and components related to the charging system. At one point, there was a ground issue. Then there is the constant “shift into park” after parking the car. Overall, this car has been nothing but trouble, and I would not recommend it to anyone.

The car has more features than you think for the price. Heated seats, android and apple auto, a turbo. It's not the pinical of luxury, but it definitely gives you enough if you are on a budget.

Why it stands out
The 2024 Chevrolet Malibu stands out as the final outing for Chevrolet’s long-running front-drive sedan, and it also marks the brand’s last production sedan for now. By this point, the Malibu had already settled into its most mature form, with the 2016 redesign having made it more sophisticated, more comfortable, and more reliable than the Malibus that came before it. It also brought a sleeker shape, a larger and more open-feeling back seat, and a reputation for being a good value in a segment where it had long competed on price as much as on polish.
For 2024, the Malibu was essentially a carry-over from 2022, so its appeal came from the same mix of practicality and straightforward equipment. The car offered a roomy cabin, easy-to-use features, and an infotainment setup that included a standard eight-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Chevrolet had also made some active safety features standard by 2022, including automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection and forward collision warnings. Buyers looking at a used 2024 Malibu could also appreciate that this generation had the best reliability record of the front-wheel drive Malibus, although it was not without issues, including weak transmissions prior to the addition of the CVT.
