What should I look for when buying a used Chevrolet Equinox EV?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Active Safety Package 2 adds a surround-view camera system with rear pedestrian alerts and automatic braking, side bicyclist alert, traffic sign recognition, lane departure warning, and intersection braking.
• Infotainment: a 17.7-inch touchscreen with Google Built-in and downloadable apps, including Spotify.
• Range & charging: up to 513 kilometres of range, an 85-kWh lithium-ion battery pack, and DC fast charging at a maximum rate of 150 kW.
• Battery health: check battery state-of-health, ask how the vehicle has been charged over time, and review the remaining battery warranty so you know what coverage still applies.

Which Chevrolet Equinox EV trim should I buy?

The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV offers these trims:

• LT: The entry trim is the value pick, with the standard 220-horsepower electric motor, front-wheel drive, the 11.5 kW onboard charger, Google Built-in, and the core safety suite. It suits you if you want the most affordable way into the model.
• RS: The RS adds larger wheels, blacked-out styling elements, red interior accents, and extra convenience and safety packages. It suits you if you want a sportier look and more equipment, though the LT remains the best-value trim.

What Chevrolet Equinox EV do most buyers choose?

The Chevrolet Equinox EV years with the most listings are 2025, 2024, and 2026.

Those higher-volume years tend to draw more shoppers because they offer a broader mix of availability and pricing. More listings usually give you more room to compare condition, equipment, and deal quality before you buy.

What is the Chevrolet Equinox EV's resale value?

Prices are moving lower for both model years, which is good news if you are shopping used. The larger drop on the newer model year suggests stronger value for buyers who want the latest version without paying close to original pricing. The smaller decline on the older model year shows a steadier price pattern, which can help if you want a lower entry point.

The 2024 and 2025 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Chevrolet Equinox EV safe?

• 2025: 8/10
• 2024: 8/10

All Equinox models come with a safety suite that includes frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, a blind-spot monitor with steering intervention, and automatic high beams.

For the safest used buy, the 2024 and 2025 models both post the highest confirmed score of 8/10.

Should I buy a used Chevrolet Equinox EV now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −21.05% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −5.75%.
• Deal availability: The 2025 model has 26.5% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 26.7%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2025 model has the most listings at a current average price of $39,974 CAD. The Chevrolet Equinox EV offers a comfortable ride, plenty of cargo space, and strong everyday usability.

Consider waiting if:

• Range & charging: In standard form, the Chevrolet Equinox EV comes with a single 220-horsepower electric motor and front-wheel drive (FWD). Natural Resources Canada estimates the front-drive Equinox EV will return up to 513 kilometres of range on a single charge. DC fast charging is also included and has a maximum rate of 150 kW.
• Tech: The Equinox EV's infotainment system benefits from the large 17.7-inch touchscreen that displays sharp graphics with quick responses. The system is powered with Google Built-in, which integrates several map, traffic, and productivity features.
• Safety: For added assurance, the Active Safety Package 2 adds a surround-view camera system with rear pedestrian alerts and automatic braking, side bicyclist alert, traffic sign recognition, lane departure warning, and intersection braking, and this package is standard in Canada.
• Starting price: The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV has a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) starting at $48,333 CAD for the LT base model with FWD.

If you're buying used today, the 2025 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
