The 1985 Buick Somerset Regal was the Pontiac Grand Am, just much more highly polished. I owned 2 versions, the 3.0L V6 with 4 speed automatic, as well as the 2.5L Tech Four, connected to a rare 5-speed stick. The V6 suffered from a persistent issue with the crankshaft position sensor, which caused significant "no start" issues. When it ran, it was FAST. The body squeaks, the the incredibly badly designed radio system, as well as the headliner falling, marred what could have otherwise been a very fun car to drive.
