28.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
Are Buick Encore models reliable?

- Owners rate the Buick Encore between 4.33 and 5.0 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.
For long-term ownership, used buyers should pay close attention to mileage and condition, since some owner feedback points to powertrain and durability concerns as the kilometres add up.
What Buick Encore do most buyers choose?
The Buick Encore years with the most listings are 2018, 2019, and 2017.
| Model Year | Total Listings | Good + Great Deals % |
|---|---|---|
| 2018 | 184 | 28.8% |
| 2019 | 164 | 30.5% |
| 2017 | 129 | 24.8% |
| 2020 | 112 | 33% |
| 2016 | 93 | 23.7% |
| 2015 | 64 | 23.4% |
These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you more inventory to compare, which can make it easier to find the right colour, mileage, and feature mix. They also often sit in a sweet spot between newer pricing and older-model affordability.
What is the Buick Encore's resale value?
| Model Year | Current Avg. Price | Year-Over-Year Change |
|---|---|---|
| 2017 | $11,631 CAD | −23.66% |
| 2021 | $18,325 CAD | −18.76% |
| 2020 | $17,406 CAD | −18.36% |
| 2019 | $14,962 CAD | −17.09% |
| 2018 | $13,887 CAD | −14.47% |
| 2022 | $21,295 CAD | −13.01% |
| 2014 | $9,425 CAD | −9.94% |
| 2015 | $10,861 CAD | −6.36% |
| 2016 | $12,197 CAD | −5.47% |
Most model years in the table are down year over year, and several recent ones show double-digit declines. That pattern can work in your favour if you're shopping used, since it points to softer pricing across much of the lineup. The smallest changes appear in the older model years, which have moved less over the past year.
The 2016, 2015, and 2014 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
Should I buy a used Buick Encore now?
Buy now if:
- Price trend: The 2022 model is at −13.01% versus a year ago, and the 2021 model is at −18.76%.
- Sweet-spot year: The 2018 model has the most listings at a current average price of $13,887 CAD.

The car was in good shape from looks and seemed to run okay, but has the check engine light on. The sales rep would not hook it up to the code reader unless I confirmed I wanted to buy it. I would not buy a car for my 16 year old with a check engine light on without knowing what or how much would need to be spent to fix it. It could have been something simple, but could have been something expensive too.

I like the car and all it offers. The car value is good. The only thing that is missing is a sunroof I like sunroof cars.

I was completely shocked by how roomy the driver seat was. Im 65 300# and have more than enough leg room, the driver seat is very comfortable. I love the android auto/ Bluetooth to play music from my phone., plus I can do everything hands free by saying Hey Google. Surprisingly great gas mileage for an AWD.
