The Buick Encore's current nationwide average price is $14,238 CAD, and its lowest point over the past year was $14,176 CAD. That puts today’s average very close to the model’s recent low, which can be encouraging if you’re shopping now.
Recently, prices have come down for the 2020, 2021, and 2022 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

What Buick Encore do most buyers choose?
The Buick Encore years with the most listings are 2018, 2019, and 2017.
| Model Year | Total Listings | Good + Great Deals % |
|---|---|---|
| 2018 | 183 | 25.7% |
| 2019 | 172 | 28.5% |
| 2017 | 127 | 22% |
| 2020 | 114 | 34.2% |
| 2016 | 86 | 23.3% |
| 2015 | 68 | 25% |
These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you more choice on price, mileage, and condition. They also sit in a sweet spot for shoppers who want a newer-feeling Encore without moving into the highest-priced model years.
What is the Buick Encore's resale value?
| Model Year | Current Avg. Price | Year-Over-Year Change |
|---|---|---|
| 2017 | $11,655 CAD | −23.64% |
| 2020 | $17,437 CAD | −18.47% |
| 2021 | $18,563 CAD | −18.38% |
| 2019 | $15,131 CAD | −15.41% |
| 2018 | $14,089 CAD | −14.32% |
| 2022 | $21,350 CAD | −14.17% |
| 2014 | $9,614 CAD | −10.15% |
| 2016 | $12,116 CAD | −8.02% |
| 2015 | $11,309 CAD | −2.82% |
Most Encore model years are down year over year, and several recent years show double-digit declines. That creates a favourable setup for used buyers who want to step into a newer model at a lower price than a year ago. The smallest changes are concentrated in the older model years, which suggests they have moved more gradually.
The 2015, 2016, and 2014 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
Should I buy a used Buick Encore now?
Buy now if:
- Price trend: The 2022 model is at −14.17% versus a year ago, and the 2021 model is at −18.38%.
- Sweet-spot year: The 2018 model has the most listings at a current average price of $14,089 CAD.
If you're buying used today, the 2018 model year offers the best mix of value and availability.

The car was in good shape from looks and seemed to run okay, but has the check engine light on. The sales rep would not hook it up to the code reader unless I confirmed I wanted to buy it. I would not buy a car for my 16 year old with a check engine light on without knowing what or how much would need to be spent to fix it. It could have been something simple, but could have been something expensive too.

I like the car and all it offers. The car value is good. The only thing that is missing is a sunroof I like sunroof cars.

I was completely shocked by how roomy the driver seat was. Im 65 300# and have more than enough leg room, the driver seat is very comfortable. I love the android auto/ Bluetooth to play music from my phone., plus I can do everything hands free by saying Hey Google. Surprisingly great gas mileage for an AWD.
