What should I look for when buying a used Audi SQ5?

Key things to evaluate:

• Fuel efficiency: The official Natural Resources Canada fuel economy rating is 11.4 litres per 100 kilometres combined, and we observed 11.5 L/100 km during testing.
• Infotainment: Audi Digital Stage includes an 11.9-inch Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus digital instrumentation display, a 14.5-inch OLED touchscreen for the Multimedia Interface (MMI) infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a navigation system, SiriusXM satellite radio, and Audi Assistant.
• Safety package: Standard safety features include automatic high-beam headlights, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and front and rear parking sensors.

Which Audi SQ5 trim should I buy?

The 2025 Audi SQ5 offers these trims:

• Progressiv: This trim brings the 11.9-inch Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus display, the 14.5-inch OLED MMI touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation, SiriusXM, Audi Assistant, the 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen 3D surround-sound system, and a configurable head-up display. It suits you if you want the core SQ5 experience with a strong equipment list.
• Technik: This trim adds the 10.9-inch front passenger touchscreen, Dynamic Interaction Lighting, and extra visual and cabin customisation touches. It is the best-value choice if you want the most complete tech and luxury presentation.

What Audi SQ5 do most buyers choose?

The Audi SQ5 years with the most listings are 2024, 2022, and 2023.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you more inventory to compare, which can make it easier to find the right colour, mileage, and equipment mix. They also often sit in the sweet spot between newer features and more approachable pricing.

What is the Audi SQ5's resale value?

Most model years in the SQ5 lineup are showing double-digit price declines, which can work in your favour if you are shopping used. The newer years are also moving down meaningfully, so recent inventory may offer stronger value than you might expect. The spread between the largest and smallest changes suggests some years are softening faster than others, but the overall direction is clearly downward.

The 2017, 2021, and 2019 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Audi SQ5 safe?

• 2025: 4/10

The 2025 SQ5 includes standard driver-assistance features such as automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and front and rear parking sensors.

Should I buy a used Audi SQ5 now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −13.38% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −20.75%.
• Deal availability: The 2025 model has 32.8% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 34.1%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2024 model has the most listings at a current average price of $51,836 CAD. The Audi SQ5 offers a premium cabin, strong road presence, and a polished performance-luxury character that makes it easy to live with every day.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: Audi equips the SQ5 with a turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 engine, 362 horsepower, 406 pound-feet of torque, and a 0 to 100 km/h time of 4.8 seconds.
• Tech: Audi Digital Stage includes an 11.9-inch Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus display, a 14.5-inch OLED MMI touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 10.9-inch front passenger touchscreen on Technik.
• Safety: The latest model adds Emergency Assist, Rear Turn Assist, hands-on detection capability, and standard driver-assistance features including adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring.
• Starting price: Audi Canada offers the 2025 SQ5 and SQ5 Sportback in Progressiv and Technik trim levels, priced from $82,150 CAD to $86,900 CAD including fees.

If you're buying used today, the 2024 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
