What should I look for when buying a used Acura MDX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: AcuraWatch, including forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, lane centring assist, and adaptive cruise control with traffic-jam assist.
• Infotainment: A 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Amazon Alexa Built-in and Google Built-in, plus wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, and wireless smartphone charging.
• Fuel efficiency: The official Natural Resources Canada fuel economy estimate is 11.2 litres per 100 kilometres combined (or 12.4 L/100 km for the Type S Ultra), and we observed 13.1 L/100 km on our evaluation loop.

Which Acura MDX trim should I buy?

The 2026 Acura MDX offers these trims:

• Tech: The entry trim brings the MDX’s core luxury-SUV formula, including standard all-wheel drive in Canada and the 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system; it suits buyers who want the MDX experience with the simplest trim structure.
• A-Spec: This trim adds blacked-out wheels and exterior trim, plus a sportier visual treatment; it suits shoppers who want a more expressive look.
• Platinum Elite A-Spec: This is the best-value trim for many buyers because it adds quilted leather upholstery, ambient lighting, and the available head-up display, while keeping the MDX’s upscale feel and strong everyday usability.
• Type S Ultra: This trim adds the twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6, adaptive air suspension, and other performance upgrades for buyers who want the most powerful and most performance-focused MDX.

What Acura MDX do most buyers choose?

The Acura MDX years with the most listings are 2024, 2023, and 2025.

These higher-volume model years tend to draw the most attention because they give you more inventory to compare, which can make it easier to find the right trim, colour, and price. They also sit close to the current generation’s sweet spot, where you get newer features and broader availability.

What is the Acura MDX's resale value?

The table shows broad year-over-year price declines across the MDX lineup, which can work in your favour if you are shopping used. The drops are especially pronounced in several older model years, while the newest years still show double-digit movement. That pattern suggests there are opportunities across the range, especially if you are flexible on model year and trim.

The 2025, 2023, and 2022 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
