What should I look for when buying a used Acura MDX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Fuel efficiency: The official Natural Resources Canada fuel economy estimate is 11.2 litres per 100 kilometres combined (or 12.4 L/100 km for the Type S Ultra), and we observed 13.1 L/100 km on our evaluation loop.

Which Acura MDX trim should I buy?

The 2026 Acura MDX offers these trims:

• Tech: The entry trim gives you the MDX’s core luxury-SUV formula with standard AWD in Canada, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a full AcuraWatch safety suite.
• A-Spec: This trim adds blacked-out styling details and a sportier look, and it suits you if you want a more expressive appearance.
• Platinum Elite A-Spec: This is the best-value trim if you want a richer cabin and more upscale presentation, including quilted leather upholstery, ambient lighting, and the available head-up display.
• Type S Ultra: This top trim adds the twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6, adaptive air suspension, and the most performance-focused setup in the lineup.

What Acura MDX do most buyers choose?

The Acura MDX years with the most listings are 2024, 2023, and 2025.

Those higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you more inventory to compare, which can make it easier to find the right colour, trim, and price. They also sit in the newer part of the lineup, where shoppers often want a balance of modern features and used-market value.

What is the Acura MDX's resale value?

Most MDX model years are showing clear year-over-year price declines, which is good news if you’re shopping used and want more value for your money. The newer model years are also moving down, but by smaller percentages than many older ones, so recent inventory can still be attractive if you want newer features. Overall, the table points to a market that is giving buyers more room to negotiate across much of the lineup.

The 2022, 2025, and 2023 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Should I buy a used Acura MDX now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −9.78% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −14.07%.
• Deal availability: The 2025 model has 39.4% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 40.1%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2024 model has the most listings at a current average price of $51,868 CAD. The Acura MDX offers a comfortable cabin, strong family-friendly practicality, and a refined overall feel that has made it a long-running favourite.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: Most MDX models have a 3.5-litre V6 engine under their hoods. It generates 290 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque, and it pairs with a 10-speed automatic transmission and Acura’s Integrated Dynamics System driving modes including Snow, Comfort, Normal, and Sport.
• Tech: A 12.3-inch digital instrumentation display pairs with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and it offers wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, and wireless smartphone charging.
• Safety: Acura bundles most of the MDX’s driver aids into a package called AcuraWatch, and blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and automatic high-beam headlights are also standard.
• Starting price: Prices range from $72,115 to $94,015, including the $2,595 destination charge and other fees.

If you're buying used today, the 2024 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
