Is the 2026 Volvo XC90 a good car?

Yes — the 2026 Volvo XC90 is a good car if you want a luxury midsize SUV that balances elegant Scandinavian design with family-friendly practicality. It has a three-row layout, a cabin that prioritises quality materials and easy access, and a clear identity as a safety-focused, eco-conscious choice in the segment. The vertical touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto adds everyday usability, while the third row can suit people up to 5’7” tall. 5/5 user rating. With 26.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2026 Volvo XC90 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The XC90’s appeal is reinforced by its safety-focused positioning, standard all-wheel drive on Canadian second-generation models, and a cabin layout that is built for family use. Its broad powertrain range also gives you flexibility, from mild-hybrid setups to a plug-in hybrid option. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that maintenance can be costly, especially if you are looking at higher-spec or plug-in hybrid versions.

Should I buy a 2026 Volvo XC90 or consider a different year?

Choose the 2026 if:

• 26.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It adds updated styling, materials, and feature content while keeping the XC90’s flagship three-row character.

The bottom line: If you want the current XC90’s mix of luxury, practicality, and strong owner satisfaction, the 2026 is the primary path to consider. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2025 is worth a close look because it brings meaningful updates and may offer better value depending on the listing.

How does the 2026 Volvo XC90 compare to the 2026 Audi Q7?

The 2026 Volvo XC90 and 2026 Audi Q7 are closely matched luxury midsize SUVs, but they appeal in slightly different ways.
