New & Used 2026 Toyota Tacoma for Sale near St Albert, ON

Is the 2026 Toyota Tacoma a good car?

The 2026 Toyota Tacoma is a strong choice if you want a midsize pickup that blends Toyota’s durability reputation with a more modern design and feature set. In Canada, it comes with a new frame, a remade interior, and updated engines, including the first hybrid drivetrain offered in a Tacoma. The standard 2.4-litre turbo four-cylinder is described as delivering power and speed similar to the old V6 with better fuel economy, while the hybrid adds more output and a combined fuel consumption of 10.0 litres per 100 kilometres.

It also looks well suited to everyday use. You get a Double Cab as the default configuration in Canada, an 8.0-inch screen with Toyota’s latest software, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and available wireless charging. The Canadian suspension setup is also tuned for better on- and off-road handling, which helps the truck feel more versatile.

For shoppers who want a capable midsize pickup that feels current without losing the Tacoma’s traditional appeal, this is a compelling option. 37.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2026 Toyota Tacoma reliable?

The 2026 Toyota Tacoma builds on a long reputation for durability, and that remains one of its biggest strengths. Toyota also gives it a new frame, updated hardware, and a strong set of standard safety features, all of which support its reputation as a truck designed for long-term use.

At the same time, this is still a very new model year, so used examples are not generally available in large numbers yet. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is more about limited market history than any obvious red flags in the truck itself.
