New & Used 2026 Toyota Tacoma for Sale near Lillooet, BC

Is the 2026 Toyota Tacoma a good car?

The 2026 Toyota Tacoma is a strong choice if you want a midsize pickup that blends Toyota’s durability reputation with a more modern design and feature set. In Canada, it comes with a totally new frame, a remade interior, and new engines, including the first-ever hybrid drivetrain offered in a Tacoma. The standard 2.4-litre turbo four-cylinder is described as delivering power and speed similar to the old V6 but with better fuel economy, while the hybrid adds 326 horsepower and a combined fuel consumption of 10.0 litres per 100 kilometres.

It is also well suited to everyday use. The Double Cab is the default configuration in Canada, and you get an 8.0-inch screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Hybrid trucks add a larger 14-inch display, and wireless charging is available. Toyota’s multi-link rear suspension in Canada should also help with on-road comfort and off-road composure.

For shoppers who want a capable midsize truck that feels current without losing the Tacoma’s traditional appeal, it makes a compelling case. 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2026 Toyota Tacoma reliable?

The 2026 Toyota Tacoma builds on a long reputation for durability, which is one of its biggest selling points. Toyota also gives it a totally new frame, a remade interior, and a modernised powertrain lineup, all of which support its appeal as a truck meant to handle both daily driving and tougher use.

It also keeps a strong set of standard safety features, and the Canadian-spec suspension setup is designed to improve on- and off-road handling. That combination suggests a truck engineered to be easy to live with while still staying true to the Tacoma name.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that this generation is still very new, so you should be selective about condition, history, and warranty coverage.

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market if you are shopping for a 2026 Tacoma. The truck is still new enough that used inventory is limited, but there are enough listings to give you some choice if you are patient and focused on value.
