New & Used 2026 Toyota 4Runner for Sale near Perrault Falls, ON

Is the 2026 Toyota 4Runner a good car?

Yes — 5/5 user rating and a 6.7/10 expert rating point to a vehicle that fits your needs well if you want an adventure-focused SUV. The standout strength is Technology at 8/10.

The 2026 Toyota 4Runner is built around an old-school SUV character, and that is exactly what makes it distinctive. It is aimed at shoppers who want adventure, and it stands out as one of the better off-roaders on the market. It also has a family-friendly side, since it can carry more passengers than its closest rivals, the Jeep Wrangler and Ford Bronco, while an available hybrid powertrain gives it better fuel economy than those competitors.

The trade-offs are clear: passenger comfort and interior space take a hit, and the ride is firm and jiggly. Even with the hybrid, fuel economy is still not as good as in typical crossover SUVs, which are generally more comfortable and more affordable. For buyers who prioritise off-road ability and want to bring passengers along, the 2026 Toyota 4Runner makes a strong case, but it is less convincing as a daily family SUV than a crossover.

30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Toyota 4Runner reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2026 Toyota 4Runner is positioned as a rugged, purpose-built SUV, and the expert assessment reinforces that it is designed for durability-minded adventure use. Its powertrain and 4WD hardware are set up for off-road work, and the overview frames it as a vehicle for shoppers who want to extend their adventures rather than prioritise comfort-first commuting.

Toyota’s performance content also points to a drivetrain that is built for demanding use, with low-range 4Lo, Crawl Control, and off-road-oriented 4WD systems. The cost-effectiveness content adds that the 4Runner is purpose-built for adventure, which fits the long-term ownership profile of buyers who will use it as intended.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is not mechanical fragility so much as living with a truck-like SUV that can feel compromised if you expect crossover-like comfort and efficiency.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Toyota 4Runner?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base model is the most stripped-back version, while higher trims add more comfort, off-road hardware, and better lighting and exterior equipment. The off-road-focused models also bring synthetic leather, and the Limited and Platinum trims add leather upholstery.
• Powertrain: In Canada, you can choose between the turbocharged 2.4-litre i-Force four-cylinder and the i-Force Max hybrid. The hybrid adds more output and better fuel economy than the non-hybrid version, but it still is not especially efficient.
• Safety package: Every 4Runner gets Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, road sign recognition, and high beam assist. Blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are also standard.
• Infotainment: The base model gets an 8-inch touchscreen and a 7-inch digital instrument cluster. The instrument cluster grows to 12.3 inches in all but the base model, and the touchscreen expands to 14 inches beginning at the TRD Off-Road Premium package. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard.
• Fuel efficiency: The hybrid is rated at 10.4 L/100 km in the city, 9.6 on the highway, and 10.0 combined. The non-hybrid versions rate at 11.2 L/100 km combined.

Which 2026 Toyota 4Runner trim should I buy?

The 2026 Toyota 4Runner is offered in 8 trim levels: standard package, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road Premium, Limited, Platinum, TRD Pro, Trailhunter, and standard package.

Here's the short version:

• standard package: This is the entry point if you want the 4Runner’s core rugged character at the lowest price, but it is also the most basic version for equipment and screen size.
• TRD Sport: Choose this if you want a step up from the base model without jumping straight into the more serious off-road hardware.
• TRD Off-Road Premium: This is the best-value choice if you want the strongest mix of capability and equipment, with a larger touchscreen, more off-road hardware, and the features that make the 4Runner feel properly equipped.
• Limited: Pick this if you want the more street-friendly setup, including full-time 4WD and a lower ride height.
• Platinum: This suits you if you want a more upscale version with the same easier-to-live-with street focus as the Limited.
• TRD Pro: Choose this if you want the most serious factory off-road hardware and the most aggressive capability-focused setup.
• Trailhunter: This is the most adventure-ready choice if you want the most specialised overlanding-style equipment and accessories.

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard across the lineup, and blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are also included.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota equips every 4Runner with Safety Sense 3.0, which includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, road sign recognition, and high beam assist. Blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are also standard.

The mixed crash-test results are the main caveat for safety-minded used buyers, especially if you are comparing it with more conventional family SUVs.

Should I buy a 2026 Toyota 4Runner or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It keeps the 4Runner’s adventure-first character while pairing it with available hybrid efficiency and strong off-road capability.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It brings a redesigned 4Runner with more capability, power, comfort, and technology.

The bottom line: If you want the newest version of the 4Runner’s rugged formula, the 2026 is the better target. If you are shopping with value in mind, the 2025 is worth a look because it introduced the modernised redesign and may offer a more attractive price on the used market.
