Is the 2026 Kia Seltos a good car?

The 2026 Kia Seltos stands out as a subcompact crossover that aims to deliver more than its size suggests. Kia positioned it to bridge the gap between the Soul and the Sportage, and the result is a small SUV with a larger footprint and a more rugged personality than many rivals.

What makes the Seltos appealing is the way it balances practicality and polish. It is noted for a high-quality cabin, refined driving dynamics, and generous passenger and cargo space for its compact dimensions. The model also has a reputation for intuitive controls, practical packaging, and a nicely refined chassis.

35.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a decent chance of finding a competitive offer if you shop carefully.

Is the 2026 Kia Seltos reliable?

The 2026 Kia Seltos is described as a well-rounded small crossover with a high-quality cabin, refined driving dynamics, intuitive controls, practical packaging, and a nicely refined chassis.

At the same time, it is not perfect: the buying guide calls out a noisy cabin, a clunky dual-clutch transmission, and a base engine that feels underpowered. Even so, the Seltos has built its appeal on being a well-rounded small crossover that offers a lot of substance without losing its distinctive character.

For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is more about living with a few everyday compromises than expecting the vehicle to be trouble-free in every respect.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Kia Seltos?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 35.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 429 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.95% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $30,948 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2026 Kia Seltos's resale value?

The current average of $30,948 CAD sits slightly below last year's $36,387 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can work against you if you're planning to sell soon. If you buy now, you may be entering at a lower point than previous owners did, which can help reduce depreciation risk from here. For a future seller, the key will be how well the vehicle holds demand once the market settles.

Should I buy a 2026 Kia Seltos or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 35.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.95% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2026 Kia Seltos makes sense if you want a small crossover with a rugged look, a polished cabin, and strong everyday practicality, especially if you can find one priced near the lower end of the market. If you're more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth considering, but the 2026 is the better starting point if you want the freshest version of this formula.
