New & Used 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee for Sale nearThunder Bay, ON

Is the 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee a good car?

The 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee earns a 6.8/10 from our experts. The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.

You’re looking at a midsize SUV that still makes a strong visual statement, and the 2026 refresh adds a new turbocharged four-cylinder engine plus a larger touchscreen to keep it feeling more current. It’s a good fit if you care more about towing ability and off-road capability than outright efficiency, and the updated styling helps it stand out in a crowded segment.

The trade-offs are clear: the test-drive notes call out middling fuel economy and poor value for money, and the loss of the 4xe plug-in hybrid means there’s no electrified option this year. Even so, the combination of style, utility, and the new engine keeps it appealing if you want a capable, well-equipped SUV. 25.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee reliable?

The 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee is presented as a familiar, mainstream SUV with a long-lived powertrain and standard four-wheel drive in Canada, which should help it feel straightforward to live with. The new Hurricane four-cylinder is described as impressive, with broad power delivery that makes passing feel confident and genuinely quick, while the V6 remains in the lower trims.

Jeep’s three-year/60,000-kilometre basic warranty and five-year/100,000-kilometre powertrain warranty are competitive with most mainstream brands. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the Grand Cherokee’s broader appeal still comes with middling efficiency and value concerns, so you’ll want to weigh running costs carefully.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lower trims are expected to have cloth upholstery, while higher trims move to leatherette or genuine leather. The upper trims also bring more equipment, and the available sunroofs are worth checking if you want a more upscale cabin.
• Powertrain: The Hurricane 4 Turbo is the headline engine for 2026, with the base Laredo and Laredo X expected to keep the Pentastar 3.6-litre V6. Both engines use an eight-speed automatic and standard 4WD in Canada.
• Safety package: Jeep’s standard suite is expected to include adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors. Active Drive Assist is available, but not on every trim.
• Infotainment: Lower trims continue with a 10.2-inch touchscreen, while a larger 12.3-inch screen is available on higher trims. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and the system also supports off-road pages.
• Fuel efficiency: Jeep expects the Hurricane four-cylinder to return fuel economy as low as 8.7 litres per 100 kilometres combined, compared with 10.9 litres per 100 kilometres combined for the V6.

Which 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee trim should I buy?

The 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee is offered in 7 trim levels: Laredo, Laredo X, Altitude, Limited, 85th Anniversary, Limited Reserve, and Summit.

Here's the short version:

• Laredo: This is the entry point, and it keeps the V6 while giving you the Grand Cherokee’s core capability and standard 4WD. It makes sense if you want the nameplate’s style and utility without chasing higher-end extras.
• Laredo X: Choose this if you want a similar starting point but prefer a slightly different equipment mix. It should suit buyers who want the least expensive path into the lineup.
• Altitude: This is where the cabin starts to feel more upscale, with leatherette expected instead of cloth. It’s a sensible step up if you want a nicer interior without going all the way to the pricier trims.
• Limited: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it balances equipment, comfort, and capability without pushing too far up the price ladder. It’s also a strong choice if you want the new turbo-four engine.
• 85th Anniversary: This trim adds a more distinctive equipment mix and sits in the middle of the range. It’s worth considering if you want something a bit more special than the mainstream trims.
• Limited Reserve: This is the more premium-feeling choice for buyers who want a richer cabin and more of the Grand Cherokee’s upscale character. It’s a good fit if you care about comfort and features more than price.
• Summit: This is the top trim, with the biggest touchscreen, the premium audio setup, and the most advanced 4WD hardware expected. It’s the one to buy if you want the most luxurious Grand Cherokee experience.

Jeep’s standard safety package is expected across the lineup, while Active Drive Assist is available rather than standard.
