New & Used 2026 Ford Maverick for Sale nearSaint John, NB

Is the 2026 Ford Maverick a good car?

The 2026 Ford Maverick is a sensible choice if you want compact-truck practicality without stepping up to a larger pickup. It is a four-door crew cab with a five-foot cargo bed, and its appeal is that it is small and easy to drive while still offering real utility for urban use and everyday hauling.

Its strongest points are the available hybrid powertrain and the broad range of configurations. The hybrid is rated at 5.6 L/100 km in the city, 6.7 L/100 km on the highway, and 6.2 L/100 km combined, while the non-hybrid 2.0-litre EcoBoost is rated at 10.6 L/100 km city, 7.8 L/100 km highway, and 9.4 L/100 km combined. You also get useful capability, with the hybrid able to tow up to 680 kg and the turbocharged model up to 1,810 kg when properly equipped.

There are trade-offs, though. The hybrid is described as a bit of a slouch in acceleration, and the ride is firm with a budget-oriented interior. Even so, the Maverick’s mix of affordability, efficiency, and everyday usefulness makes it appealing for shoppers who want a compact pickup that is easier to live with than a larger truck. 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2026 Ford Maverick reliable?

The 2026 Ford Maverick is presented as a practical compact pickup with a straightforward appeal: it is small, easy to drive, and built around everyday usefulness. Its available hybrid powertrain and broad configuration range add to that sense of versatility, especially if you want a truck that fits urban life better than a larger pickup.

The overview also points to some compromises, including a firm ride and a budget-oriented interior, which are worth keeping in mind as part of the ownership experience. For used buyers, that means long-term risk is more about living with the Maverick’s compromises than expecting it to behave like a larger, more refined truck.

Should I buy a 2026 Ford Maverick or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It adds updates, including a new performance variant and an all-wheel drive hybrid.

The bottom line: The 2026 is the better fit if you want the Maverick’s compact-truck practicality, efficiency, and manageable size in the current market. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2025 is worth a look because it brings meaningful updates while keeping the same basic appeal.

How does the 2026 Ford Maverick compare to the 2026 Honda Ridgeline?

The Maverick is the more affordable and more fuel-efficient choice, while the Ridgeline brings a larger V6 and a higher starting price. If you want a compact pickup that is easier to live with in the city, the Maverick is the more approachable option. If you want more power and do not mind paying more, the Ridgeline is the stronger alternative.
