New & Used 2026 Ford Maverick for Sale nearDawson Creek, BC

Is the 2026 Ford Maverick a good car?

The 2026 Ford Maverick stands out because it keeps the compact pickup formula simple, useful, and easy to live with. It is available only as a four-door crew cab with a five-foot cargo bed, which gives it a straightforward layout that should suit you if you want truck utility without moving up to something larger. It also remains a relatively affordable choice, and its small size makes it easy to drive.

What makes it especially distinctive is the range of powertrain and equipment choices it has accumulated. The hybrid version is rated at 5.6 litres per 100 kilometres in the city, 6.7 on the highway, and 6.2 combined, while the non-hybrid 2.0-litre EcoBoost is estimated at 10.6 L/100 km city, 7.8 highway, and 9.4 combined. The Maverick also offers meaningful towing capability, with the hybrid rated to 680 kilograms and the turbo model able to pull up to 1,810 kilograms when properly equipped. For buyers who want more personality, the lineup includes a sporty street-focused trim with lowered suspension, 19-inch wheels, sport brakes and steering, and unique styling.

There are trade-offs, though. The hybrid is praised for fuel efficiency but described as a bit of a slouch in acceleration, and the truck’s ride is firm with a budget-oriented interior. Early safety recalls were also a concern, although many of them were addressed by the 2025 model year. Even so, the Maverick’s combination of practicality, efficiency, and value is what makes it appealing to shoppers who do not need a full-size truck. 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Should I buy a 2026 Ford Maverick or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It adds styling and tech updates, plus a hybrid AWD option and the Lobo trim.

The bottom line: The 2026 is the better pick if you want the Maverick’s straightforward compact-truck formula and are shopping the current market. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2025 is worth a look because it brings meaningful updates and broader lineup choice while still delivering the Maverick’s core appeal.
