Why it stands out

The 2026 Ford F-350 Super Duty stands out as a heavy-duty pickup built around serious capability, but it is also one of the more civilised trucks in its class. Ford redesigned it from the ground up for the current generation, giving it a beefy frame and heavier-hitting powertrains, while also adding more standard technology and convenience features. The truck comes standard with a 5G WiFi hotspot, fleet management and telematics apps, and an 8.0-inch infotainment screen, while higher trims add a 12.0-inch display and a configurable 12.0-inch digital instrument cluster. It also offers useful towing aids such as onboard scales, a trailer-aware surround-view monitoring system, trailer navigation, adaptive cruise control with lane centring, and Pro Trailer hitch.

Capability remains the main attraction. The 2026 Ford F-350 Super Duty can be ordered with the 7.3-litre gas V8 or a high-output 6.7-litre Power Stroke turbodiesel V8, and Ford says that diesel allows the single-rear-wheel model to tow up to 12,700 kilograms with a conventional hitch or up to 17,200 kilograms in dual-rear-wheel form with a gooseneck/fifth-wheel hitch. Payload capacity ranges from around 1,400 kilograms to 3,330 kilograms. Ford also made more models four-wheel drive by default, while keeping work-grade rear-wheel drive XL models available, and the regular cab, SuperCab, crew cab, and six-and-three-quarter- or eight-foot bed combinations remain on offer.

For buyers, the appeal is the combination of brute strength and a broader range of trims than many heavy-duty trucks. The lineup runs from XL and XLT to Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited, with the top trims bringing genuine luxury. The trade-off is that this is still a large, expensive truck, and the most capable versions are not cheap. Even so, for shoppers who need maximum towing and payload with modern tech and a more polished cabin than older heavy-duty pickups typically offered, the 2026 Ford F-350 Super Duty is a distinctive choice.
