New & Used 2026 Dodge Durango for Sale near Sexsmith, AB

Is the 2026 Dodge Durango a good car?

The 2026 Dodge Durango earns an 6.5/10 expert rating, and it stands out as one of the oldest new vehicles on sale while still delivering the power, technology, and practicality many midsize SUV shoppers want. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

That old-school character is part of the appeal if you want a three-row SUV with V8 sound, analogue controls, and a cabin that still feels refreshingly straightforward. The trade-offs are clear, though: Dated interior materials and Poor fuel economy are two of the biggest drawbacks, and the Durango’s age shows in the way it has been carried forward with only minor changes.

For buyers who value a muscular, traditional feel over a more modern design, it remains a compelling choice. 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which helps the value case.

Is the 2026 Dodge Durango reliable?

The 2026 Dodge Durango is presented as a long-running design that has been sold essentially unchanged since 2010, and that age is central to how you should think about ownership. Its expert coverage also notes that the Durango’s old-school layout is part of its appeal, with analogue controls that are simple and logical to use.

The performance coverage points to a durable-feeling formula built around an eight-speed automatic transmission, smooth power delivery, and all-wheel drive across the lineup. The cost-effectiveness coverage also notes purchase incentives that were available at the time of writing, which helps soften the ownership equation.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that its dated structure and older hardware may age less gracefully than newer rivals, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Dodge Durango?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Durango’s cabin is refreshingly analogue, but the interior materials feel dated, and the base trims miss some of the richer touches found higher up.
• Powertrain: The 3.6-litre V6 is the main current engine, while the 5.7-litre Hemi V8 was available on GT and GT Plus models and brings much stronger towing and acceleration.
• Safety package: Blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning, and rear parking sensors are standard on the three base trims. Lane departure warning is standard only on the GT Plus. To get full-speed forward collision warning, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, and adaptive cruise control with stop on the Hellcat Jailbreak, you’ll need the Premium Group package.
• Infotainment: Every Durango gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen with Uconnect 5, navigation, HD Radio, SiriusXM 360L, over-the-air updates, and wireless Apple CarPlay. Android Auto is wired.
• Fuel efficiency: The V6 is rated at 11.9 L/100 km combined, while the 5.7-litre Hemi V8 is rated at 14.3 L/100 km combined. The SRT Hellcat Jailbreak rises to 17.4 L/100 km combined.

Which 2026 Dodge Durango trim should I buy?

The 2026 Dodge Durango is offered in 5 trim levels: SXT, GT, GT Plus, GT Premium, and SRT Hellcat Jailbreak.

Here's the short version:

• SXT: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and the Durango’s core three-row formula without paying for extras. It still gets the standard touchscreen and the basic safety equipment, but it is the most stripped-back version.
• GT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more equipment while staying below the V8-focused upper trims. It is also one of the trims that could be paired with the 5.7-litre Hemi V8 when that engine was available.
• GT Plus: This is the trim to target if you want a better-equipped Durango with more safety content, including lane departure warning as standard. It also gets the nine-speaker Alpine stereo.
• GT Premium: This trim sits above GT Plus and was one of the versions paired with the 5.7-litre Hemi V8 when available, making it the more upscale choice for buyers who want stronger performance and more equipment.
• SRT Hellcat Jailbreak: This is the extreme performance model, with 710 hp, huge Brembo brakes, sport suspension, and the most aggressive character in the lineup. It is for buyers who want maximum speed and drama, not efficiency.

The safety-package note to keep in mind is that several driver-assistance features are limited to higher trims or the Premium Group package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Dodge Durango?

This is a moderate, selective-buyer market: the Durango has enough inventory and enough deal activity to reward careful shopping, but you should still compare condition and trim closely.

• Deal availability: 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 391 listings available.

Is the 2026 Dodge Durango safe?

The 2026 Dodge Durango received a four-star overall rating from the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), but recent ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) were not available at the time of writing.

It earns a 3/10 safety score from our experts.

The Durango does include a driver’s knee airbag and a central side airbag between the front seats, but its dated body structure means it is not expected to perform as well in a crash as newer rivals designed around the latest IIHS tests. Standard safety equipment on the three base trims includes blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning, and rear parking sensors. Lane departure warning is standard only on the GT Plus, and the Hellcat Jailbreak needs the Premium Group package to add full-speed forward collision warning, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, and adaptive cruise control with stop.

You should also note that many modern driver-assist features, including evasive steering assist and a semi-automated highway feature, are unavailable.

Should I buy a 2026 Dodge Durango or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

• Choose the 2026 if: 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals. The 2026 Durango is the oldest new vehicle on sale, but it still delivers standout performance and old-school appeal.
• Consider the 2025 if: It was the final year of production and kept strong performance, a roomy cabin, and a modern infotainment system.
• The bottom line: If you want the Durango’s distinctive mix of muscle, practicality, and analogue character, the 2026 is the one to focus on. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2025 can still make sense, especially if you find a well-kept example with the trim and equipment you want.
