New & Used 2026 Dodge Durango for Sale nearMount Pearl, NL

Is the 2026 Dodge Durango a good car?

The 2026 Dodge Durango earns an expert rating of 6.5/10. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

It is a good fit if you want a three-row SUV with an old-school feel, V8 power and sound, and a cabin that still relies on analogue controls rather than a heavily digitised layout. The Durango also brings great exterior looks and strong practicality for buyers who want something different from the usual midsize SUV formula.

The trade-offs are clear: the interior materials feel dated, modern safety features are lacking, and fuel economy is poor. Even so, the Durango’s mix of character, utility, and value keeps it relevant for shoppers who prioritise personality over polish.

31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Dodge Durango reliable?

The 2026 Dodge Durango is built around an older platform and has been sold with only minor changes for years, so its age is hard to ignore. That said, it still delivers the kind of power and everyday practicality many buyers expect from a modern midsize SUV.

Its performance hardware is straightforward, and the eight-speed automatic transmission and AWD system are described as smooth and unobtrusive. The Durango also uses an older 3.6-litre V6 in many trims, which is a familiar setup rather than a complicated one.

There is no maintenance perk language called out here, so the main ownership consideration is that long-term used buyers should pay close attention to condition, service history, and how well the vehicle has aged overall.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Dodge Durango?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base trims are missing some features that appear higher up the range, including lane departure warning, which is standard only on the GT Plus. The Durango’s interior also shows its age in the switchgear, buttons, and lower-grade plastics.
• Powertrain: Most trims can now only be ordered with the 3.6-litre V6, which makes 295 horsepower and is described as lazy and laggardly at city speeds. The older 5.7-litre Hemi V8 was available on GT and GT Plus models and brings much stronger performance.
• Safety package: Blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning, and rear parking sensors are standard on the three base trims. Lane departure warning is standard only on the GT Plus, while the Hellcat Jailbreak needs the Premium Group package for full-speed forward collision warning, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, and adaptive cruise control with stop.
• Infotainment: Every Durango gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen with Uconnect 5, navigation, HD Radio, SiriusXM 360L satellite radio, over-the-air updates, and wireless Apple CarPlay. Android Auto is wired.
• Fuel efficiency: The V6 is rated at 11.9 L/100 km combined, while the Hemi V8 is rated at 14.3 L/100 km combined. The supercharged Hellcat is rated at 17.4 L/100 km combined.

Which 2026 Dodge Durango trim should I buy?

The 2026 Dodge Durango is offered in 4 trim levels: SXT, GT, GT Plus, and Hellcat Jailbreak.

Here's the short version:

• SXT: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Durango’s core formula at the lowest price. It comes with the standard 10.1-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, and the basic safety equipment, but it is the least equipped choice.
• GT: This is the best-value trim for many buyers because it adds more equipment without jumping into the highest price brackets. It keeps the Durango’s character intact while giving you a more appealing middle ground.
• GT Plus: This trim is the one to consider if you want more safety and convenience content. It adds lane departure warning and upgrades the audio setup to a nine-speaker Alpine system.
• Hellcat Jailbreak: This is the full-throttle choice if you want maximum performance and the most dramatic Durango experience. It adds the supercharged V8, performance-focused infotainment functions, and the most aggressive hardware, but it is far beyond the needs of most shoppers.

The safety package is limited on the lower trims, so if driver-assistance features matter to you, the GT Plus is the trim to focus on.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Dodge Durango?

Is the 2026 Dodge Durango safe?

The 2026 Dodge Durango earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 3/10 safety score from our experts.

Blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning, and rear parking sensors are standard on the three base trims. Lane departure warning is standard only on the GT Plus, and the Hellcat Jailbreak needs the Premium Group package to add full-speed forward collision warning, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, and adaptive cruise control with stop.

A driver’s knee airbag and a central side airbag between the front seats are good features, but the Durango’s dated body structure means it is not expected to perform as well as newer rivals in crash testing. Modern driver-assist features such as evasive steering assist and a semi-automated highway feature are unavailable.

Should I buy a 2026 Dodge Durango or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• It still delivers old-school V8 character and strong performance in a three-row SUV package.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It offers a more rounded final-year lineup with strong performance and a roomier, comfortable interior.

The bottom line: If you want the Durango’s distinctive personality and can live with its age, the 2026 remains the right pick. If you are shopping mainly on price, the 2025 is worth a look because it keeps much of the same appeal and may offer a broader used-market choice.

Our experts score the 2026 Dodge Durango 6.5/10 and the 2026 Ford Explorer 7.5/10.
