Used 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 for Sale nearKelowna, BC

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 a good car?

The 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 earns an expert rating of 5.33/10. The standout strength is Technology at 8/10.

Chevrolet positions it as a full-size pickup that can meet almost any need, and the available diesel engine option gives you a capability and efficiency choice that many rivals do not offer. The cabin technology is also a clear highlight, especially in most trim levels, where you get an easy-to-use interface and a spacious interior.

The trade-offs are just as clear: poor fuel economy, concerning safety ratings, and weaker performance and towing technology keep it from feeling fully competitive. Even so, the value equation is described as compelling enough to outweigh those flaws for now.

With 37.8% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market still gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 reliable?

The available information points to a truck that is broadly capable, but not especially reassuring on long-term ownership confidence. Chevrolet’s own positioning emphasises breadth of configuration and utility, while the expert assessment flags weaknesses in performance, fuel economy, safety, and towing technology.

The TurboMax engine is described as powerful enough for daily driving, but it also sounds rough at idle and under acceleration, and the real-world fuel economy was disappointing. The Duramax diesel is presented as the better efficiency choice if fuel economy matters to you.

Chevrolet also includes a maintenance perk in the ownership experience through the available information, but the bigger used-buyer concern is that the Silverado’s weaker safety and efficiency results could make it a more demanding truck to live with over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The WT, Custom, and Custom Trail Boss use a more basic dashboard design, while the other trims get a more modern interior with cleaner lines and better technology. The base trims are the ones most likely to feel stripped back, so check whether the equipment level matches your expectations.
• Powertrain: You can find turbocharged four-cylinder, turbocharged diesel six-cylinder, and two V8 engines in the lineup. The TurboMax 2.7-litre four-cylinder makes 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque, while the Duramax 3.0-litre turbodiesel is the efficiency-focused choice.
• Safety package: Chevy Safety Assist is standard on every trim level and includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. Blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, parking sensors, lane centring assist, adaptive cruise control, and Super Cruise are not standard on the test truck.
• Infotainment: Higher trims get a 13.4-inch touchscreen with Google Built-in, Google Maps, Google Play Store access, Google Assistant, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. The system also supports split-screen functionality, and the truck has a 12.3-inch digital display in front of the driver.
• Fuel efficiency: The TurboMax is rated at 12.8 L/100 km combined, and the test truck averaged 15.3 L/100 km in mixed mountain driving. The Duramax is rated at 10.1 L/100 km combined with 4WD.

Which 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 trim should I buy?

The 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is offered in 9 trim levels: WT, Custom, LT, RST, Custom Trail Boss, LT Trail Boss, LTZ, High Country, and ZR2.

Here's the short version:

• WT: This is the work-focused starting point, and it makes sense if you want the Silverado’s core utility without paying for extra comfort or tech.
• Custom: This is the next step up if you want a little more everyday appeal while staying close to the value end of the lineup.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for most buyers because it sits in the middle of the range and benefits from the stronger interior and technology found in the better-equipped Silverados.
• RST: This is the trim used in the test vehicle, and it suits you if you want the modern dashboard, the 13.4-inch touchscreen, and a more polished daily-driving experience.
• Custom Trail Boss: Choose this if you want the Trail Boss look and character, but keep in mind that the more basic dashboard applies here too.
• LT Trail Boss: This is the better-equipped Trail Boss choice if you want the off-road-oriented trim family with a more upscale cabin.
• LTZ: This is for you if you want a more premium-feeling Silverado without going all the way to the top trims.
• High Country: This is the luxury-leaning choice for buyers who want the most upscale mainstream Silverado experience.
• ZR2: This is the most specialised trim in the lineup and suits buyers who want the most aggressive version of the truck.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard on every trim level, but the test truck still lacked blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, parking sensors, lane centring assist, adaptive cruise control, and Super Cruise.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?

This looks like a moderate, selective-buyer market, so you should shop carefully and compare listings rather than rushing into the first truck you see.

• Deal availability: 37.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 767 listings available.

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 safe?

The 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 earns a Marginal rating in the small overlap front evaluation, a Poor rating in the updated moderate overlap frontal impact test, and an Acceptable rating in the updated side impact test from IIHS. Headlights received a Poor rating, and front-crash prevention tech received an Acceptable rating.

It earns a 3/10 safety score from our experts.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard on every Silverado 1500 trim level, and it includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. The truck also includes a rear-seat reminder system, Buckle to Drive, and Teen Driver technology.

A key shortcoming is that blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, parking sensors, lane centring assist, adaptive cruise control, and Super Cruise are not standard on the test truck, which leaves you with fewer advanced safety features than you might expect in this class.

Should I buy a 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 37.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Chevy’s broad configuration range, diesel availability, and strong in-cab technology matter more to you than the truck’s weaker fuel economy and safety results.

The bottom line: If you want a full-size pickup with lots of configurations and you value the diesel option and easy-to-use tech, the 2026 Silverado 1500 can still make sense. If you are price-sensitive, you should also consider nearby model years and compare the equipment carefully, because the 2026’s strengths are real but its compromises are hard to ignore.
