New & Used 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 for Sale near New Mexico

How much does the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 cost?

Prices have softened 20.74% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 817 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for you to compare trims and prices.

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 a good car?

The 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 earns a 5.3/10 from our experts, and Chevrolet’s pitch is breadth: you get a wide range of cab, bed, drivetrain, and powertrain choices, plus in-cab technology that feels more modern in most trims.

The standout strength is Technology at 8/10.

That said, the truck’s trade-offs are clear: poor fuel economy and weak towing-tech execution are the biggest knocks, and the ride and steering are not especially polished. It suits you best if you value configuration choice and available tech over class-leading refinement. With 38.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 reliable?

The 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is positioned as a broad-appeal full-size pickup, but the expert assessment points to uneven execution in the areas that matter most for long-term confidence.

The truck’s performance notes show a capable turbo-four and an available Duramax diesel, but the TurboMax setup is described as noisy, short on passing punch, and less efficient in real-world driving than you might expect. The cost-effectiveness commentary also notes that the Duramax is the fuel-efficient choice and that the Silverado’s safety ratings trail rivals.

For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is less about outright mechanical novelty and more about living with a truck that may not age as gracefully in fuel costs, safety perception, and overall polish as some alternatives.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup is broad, and the base WT, Custom, and Custom Trail Boss use a more basic dashboard with cheaper plastics and a busier look than the other trims. Higher trims bring a more modern cabin and better visual presentation.
• Powertrain: You can shop turbocharged four-cylinder, turbocharged diesel six-cylinder, and V8 options. The turbo-four delivers 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque, while the Duramax diesel is the efficiency-focused choice and is rated at 10.1 L/100 km with 4WD in combined driving.
• Safety package: Chevy’s Safety Assist is standard and includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. Blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, lane centring assist, and Super Cruise are not standard on the test truck.
• Infotainment: Higher trims get a 12.3-inch digital display and a 13.4-inch touchscreen with Google Built-in, Google Maps, Google Play Store access, Google Assistant, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.
• Fuel efficiency: The TurboMax was rated at 12.8 L/100 km combined, but the test truck returned 15.3 L/100 km in mixed driving. The Duramax diesel is rated at 10.1 L/100 km combined with 4WD.

Which 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 trim should I buy?

The 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is offered in 9 trim levels: WT, Custom, LT, RST, Custom Trail Boss, LT Trail Boss, LTZ, High Country, and ZR2.

Here's the short version:

• WT: This is the work-focused starting point, but it uses the more basic interior treatment and is best if you want the lowest-frills Silverado experience.
• Custom: A step up in everyday usability, this trim adds more equipment while staying relatively straightforward for buyers who want value without chasing luxury.
• LT: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it brings the more modern dashboard, upgraded infotainment, and a better overall cabin experience without jumping all the way to premium pricing.
• RST: This is the trim used in the expert test drive, and it pairs the modern interior with strong tech and a more polished feel, though the ride and powertrain still have notable compromises.
• Custom Trail Boss: Choose this if you want the Trail Boss look and positioning, but keep in mind the cabin presentation is still tied to the more basic dashboard treatment.
• LT Trail Boss: This is the better-equipped Trail Boss path if you want a more rugged-leaning truck without giving up the nicer interior and tech found higher in the range.
• LTZ: This is where the Silverado starts leaning more upscale, so it suits you if comfort and presentation matter more than pure value.
• High Country: This is the premium mainstream choice for buyers who want the most upscale Silverado experience short of the ZR2’s specialised character.
• ZR2: Pick this if you want the most off-road-focused version in the lineup, rather than a general-purpose trim.

Chevy’s Safety Assist is standard on every Silverado 1500 trim level.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?

The current market looks moderate and selective, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 817 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.74% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $65,269 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500's resale value?

The current average of $65,269 CAD sits slightly below last year's $82,351 CAD.

That price drop suggests the used market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more truck for the money today. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale pressure if the market stays soft and if buyers continue to prioritise better fuel economy and stronger safety reputations. If you buy carefully now, you may be able to limit depreciation pain, but this is still a truck where condition, trim, and equipment will matter a lot at trade-in time.

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 safe?

The 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 earns a Marginal rating in the small overlap front evaluation, a Poor rating in the updated moderate overlap frontal impact test, and an Acceptable rating in the updated side impact test from IIHS.

It earns a 3/10 safety score from our experts.

Chevy’s Safety Assist is standard on every Silverado 1500 trim level, and it includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. The truck also includes a rear-seat reminder, Buckle to Drive, and Teen Driver technology.

The main caveat is that blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, parking sensors, lane centring assist, adaptive cruise control, and Super Cruise are not standard on the test truck, and the crash-test results are a clear weak point for used shoppers who prioritise safety.

Should I buy a 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.74% compared with last year.
• The 2026’s broad configuration range, diesel option, and strong in-cab technology matter more to you than class-leading refinement.

The bottom line: If you want the broadest mix of trims, cab styles, and available tech, the 2026 is the one to focus on. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may still want to compare nearby model years, but the 2026’s softer pricing and decent deal share make it a reasonable target for shoppers who want choice and are willing to accept its compromises.
