New & Used 2026 Chevrolet Colorado for Sale near Mitchell, ON

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Colorado a good car?

The 2026 Chevrolet Colorado earns a 6.67/10 from our experts. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

It makes a strong case in the midsize pickup segment because it keeps things simple: one powertrain, rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, and five trim levels, all in a crew-cab, short-bed body style. That straightforward setup suits you if you want a modern truck that is easy to understand and easy to live with.

The trade-offs are clear, though. Chevrolet’s own assessment points to poor fuel economy and cheap-feeling interior materials, and our experts also call out poor ergonomic design. Even so, the Colorado remains appealing for buyers who value stylish design, a fun-to-drive character, and easy-to-use technology.

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Colorado reliable?

The 2026 Chevrolet Colorado is presented as a mostly unchanged truck for 2026, following a redesign for the 2023 model year. Chevrolet positions it as a straightforward midsize pickup with a single powertrain and a simple trim structure, which can help keep ownership predictable.

Its turbocharged 2.7-litre four-cylinder engine and eight-speed automatic transmission are the only powertrain combination, and the truck’s performance notes describe it as lively enough in Trail Boss form. The cost-effectiveness commentary also points to a well-equipped WT and notes that you can add 4WD and more equipment without moving far beyond the segment’s pricing.

If you buy used, the main long-term ownership risk is that the Colorado’s poor fuel economy and mixed safety results may weigh on satisfaction over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Chevrolet Colorado?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The WT is the foundation, the LT underpins the Z71, and the Trail Boss and ZR2 add off-road capability and extra hardware. The base truck can feel sparse, while higher trims bring more features and a more distinctive look.
• Powertrain: Every 2026 Colorado uses a turbocharged 2.7-litre four-cylinder engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission. It makes 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque, and fuel economy is described as poor, especially as tyres get larger and suspension lift increases.
• Safety package: Chevy Safety Assist and Safety Package include forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and a safe following distance indicator. In Canada, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors are also standard.
• Infotainment: You get an 11.3-inch touchscreen with Google built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, Google Maps, Google Assistant, Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, OnStar connected services, and a subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot. Wireless smartphone charging is available, and certain trims add front and rear USB ports.
• Fuel efficiency: The truck can return as little as 11.1 L/100 km in combined city and highway driving in RWD form, and our test vehicle averaged 13.4 L/100 km.

Which 2026 Chevrolet Colorado trim should I buy?

The 2026 Chevrolet Colorado is offered in 5 trim levels: WT, LT, Trail Boss, Z71, ZR2.

Here's the short version:

• WT: This is the value play if you want the Colorado’s core capability at the lowest entry point. It gives you the basic truck formula and can be upgraded with 4WD and more equipment, but it is the most stripped-back starting point.
• LT: This is the best-value trim if you want a more rounded everyday truck. It serves as the basis for the Z71, so it is the logical step up if you want more comfort and flexibility without jumping straight to the off-road-focused models.
• Trail Boss: Choose this if you want the off-road-tuned suspension, factory lift, wider stance, all-terrain tyres, Off-Road and Terrain drive modes, and hill descent control. It is the most characterful choice in the lineup.
• Z71: This is the trim to consider if you want a more polished middle ground with added capability over the LT-based setup, without going all the way to the ZR2’s extreme hardware.
• ZR2: Pick this if you want the most serious off-road hardware, including 33-inch mud-terrain tyres and Multimatic DSSV dampers.

The Trail Boss and ZR2 bring extra off-road capability, while the Trail Boss’s standard halogen headlights are a notable weak point.

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Colorado safe?

The Colorado earns three-star protection in side-impact testing for the driver and front passenger seating positions from NHTSA, and it has three-star rollover resistance with RWD and 4WD. The IIHS gave the Colorado’s Chevy Safety Assist systems a “Poor” front crash prevention rating.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

Chevy Safety Assist and Safety Package include forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and a safe following distance indicator. In Canada, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors are standard, and the truck also includes a rear-seat reminder, a high-definition reversing camera, a tire fill alert system, Teen Driver monitoring technology, and Buckle to Drive.

A Technology Package adds adaptive cruise control, a rear pedestrian alert system, and a high-definition surround-view camera system. If you want lane-centring assist or Super Cruise, you need to move up to the Silverado.

Should I buy a 2026 Chevrolet Colorado or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 41.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• It keeps the Colorado’s simple lineup and strong in-cab technology while adding a new Bronze Accent Package.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It offers broad buyer appeal with a strong standard turbo engine and off-road-focused option packages.

The bottom line: If you want the latest version of the Colorado’s straightforward formula and you find a well-priced listing, the 2026 is the cleaner choice. If you are shopping on a tighter budget, the 2025 is worth a look because it delivers much of the same core appeal and may be easier on your wallet.
