It combines the Tacoma nameplate’s long-standing reputation for durability with a thoroughly modern redesign, including a new frame, a remade interior, and new engines. The Tacoma’s reputation for durability is a central part of its appeal, and this model year builds on that with a thoroughly updated platform and modern hardware. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is paying a premium for a truck that remains expensive even as it ages.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Toyota Tacoma?

It looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market if you’re shopping this Tacoma year.

• Deal availability: 37.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 345 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.56% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $57,632 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Toyota Tacoma's resale value?

The current average of $57,638 CAD sits slightly below last year's $69,079 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help future buyers but may limit upside for a quick resale. If you buy at the right price, you may have a better chance of preserving value because the model still carries strong name recognition and broad shopper interest. The current deal share also suggests there is enough market activity to support demand.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2025 Toyota Tacoma or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 37.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.56% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $52,958 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $57,638 CAD average.
• It offers a major redesign with strong capability and standard driver-assistance tech.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds stronger power and improved fuel economy with a more modern feel.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the better all-around pick if you want the newest balance of durability, technology, and road manners. If your priority is saving money, the 2024 is the more budget-friendly alternative and still delivers the Tacoma’s core strengths.
