Is the 2025 Toyota Tacoma reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 Toyota Tacoma draws on the model’s long-standing reputation for durability, and Toyota continues to make a broad set of safety features standard. Its new frame and updated hardware suggest a more modern foundation without losing the toughness buyers expect from a Tacoma. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is paying a premium for a truck that remains expensive even as it ages.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Toyota Tacoma?

It looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market if you’re willing to compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 341 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.61% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $57,772 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Toyota Tacoma's resale value?

The current average of $57,772 CAD sits slightly below last year's $69,280 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently now. For a future seller, it also means there may be less room for further depreciation than there was a year ago, especially if you buy at a competitive price. Strong demand for a well-regarded truck like this can help support values, but the Tacoma’s premium pricing still matters when you eventually resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2025 Toyota Tacoma or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.61% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $53,748 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $57,772 CAD average.
• The 2024 brings a major redesign with strong capability and standard driver-assistance tech.

The bottom line: Choose the 2025 if you want the more modern, better-equipped Tacoma and can find a well-priced example. If your priority is saving money, the 2024 is the better value path, especially if you want the redesigned truck without paying the newer-year premium.
